In her latest Instagram story, Charissa revealed hanging out with Gronkowski, captioning it, “hanging with this gem @gronk= good time.” Well, times can not be dull when Rob is around. Remember what he did in week 10 of the NFL? Fox NFL Sunday already comes with thrills of its own. On that week, Rob decided to add some more during Fox’s pregame show.
Instead of filming the show in-studio in Los Angeles like the show usually does, it was live from San Diego. “This is the time of year our entire network collectively looks forward to honoring and saluting our troops here at home and stationed across the world, We can’t wait to spotlight Naval Base San Diego as Fox NFL Sunday prepares to pays tribute to all those men and women who bravely sacrifice and defend the core values of our country,” Fox Sports CEO and executive producer Eric Shanks said in an official press release ahead of the broadcast. And as a part of that, Rob leaped into the Pacific Ocean from an MH-60s model chopper!

A fun fact is that working with a helicopter is nothing new for Rob. After all, he caught a pass from a helicopter in 2021! With a reputation of pulling off such antics, viewers are naturally excited as the buzz around Super Bowl 59 gains steam. Thompson tapped that energy perfectly as she wrote in another story, “Almost that time! @nflonfox.” So, who is Rob’s pick for the Super Bowl this time?
Rob Gronkowski knows what it takes to reach the Super Bowl and win it. In fact, he did it with two different teams. The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end has 4 Super Bowl rings, though he didn’t play in the Pats’ historic Super Bowl LI comeback against the Atlanta Falcons for injury. He played in five Super Bowl matchups with a 3-2 record during his 11-year NFL career. The legendary TE sides with the team that is on the verge of making NFL history.
“I’m going with the Kansas City Chiefs,” Rob said in an interview with Bleacher Report’s Scott Polacek. “They’re the most resilient team, they showed it over the last two years. They upgraded their team, they didn’t downgrade. They bolstered their wide receiver corps. They didn’t really have wide receivers last year, and they still won it all.” The Chiefs have won back-to-back Super Bowl titles entering the 2024 season and if Rob’s prediction comes to fruition, they will be the only team to win it thrice at a stretch.
“Patrick Mahomes is now working with Hollywood Brown, obviously the safety valve with Travis Kelce. But then you’ve also got the rookie Xavier Worthy who can run and stretch the field like no other. He’s got weapons now, I have to give it to them until another team shows they can compete with them for all four quarters and knock them off,” he further added. But don’t think that football takes away the fun side of Rob. And that holds true for a time when he was still doing wonders in the NFL. Ironically that also had Charissa involved.
Back in January 2015, Charissa sat down with the then-Patriots tight end Rob for a few questions. One of them was, “Fifth year in the league, you know, you’re a still a guy that likes to have a good time — are you different than you used to be?” Rob turned on the charm as he said, “I don’t know, maybe you’ll have to find out.” Remember, cameras were rolling at that time! That was not all. Charissa had asked Gronk to reveal something people did not know about him. That was met with, “I like to snuggle!” While Charissa and Gronkowski’s playful exchanges steal the spotlight, her journey in the sports media realm deserves just as much attention!
