The Eagles have won The Big Game once again after a seven-year wait. In a dominating performance, Philadelphia stood tall, and with that, the 2024 season is officially over. It was a fantastic year with amazing games with plenty of ups and downs. The season was especially emotional for many fans because it could be the final season where they saw their favorite players. However, emotions are not just for the players, as Terry Bradshaw’s commentary career also came to an end with Super Bowl LIX. And Charissa Thompson appears to have spoken something to honor Bradshaw and the rest of the crew. But just what is it?
Everyone in the commentary box became emotional as the season came to an end. They will no longer see each other every day and may eventually convene as a team after many months. This is why everyone on the crew got together to shoot pictures. Thompson was also very emotional, and she even posted one of the photos on her Instagram story as a family snapshot. We can see how much this photo matters to her by reading her caption, “Family Photo…. literally.”
Following the final whistle, on one end, everyone jumped up in celebration of the Eagles’ victory. But on the other end Charissa Thompson hugged her colleagues who were there on the field. Another IG story of her revealed how emotional she became as the season ended. Given that this was Terry Bradshaw’s final season, the emotions would have been considerably more intense. But why did Bradshaw decide to hang up his boots?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions, and the reason for this is that Terry Bradshaw still has two years left on his deal with FOX. So why would he retire abruptly? Bradshaw provided a huge explanation for this in an interview. The former QB believed he lacked the same level of energy as the younger generation. This prompted him to consider finishing at least his contract, but the 76-year-old icon felt that he was pushing himself too hard.

As a result, he had a conversation with his wife before eventually announcing his retirement. Terry Bradshaw revealed this in an interview where he stated, “I told my wife before I left the room a while ago, I’m sitting there… I said, ‘I’ve got two years left at FOX. I’m 76. Okay, so it’s a young man’s game. I get that.’ Everybody wants the new…” Bradshaw’s retirement has been absolutely shocking, and it appears that the whole NFL community respects his decision. Even New Orleans has done something remarkable in honor of his retirement.
New Orleans proclaims February 5th as Terry Bradshaw Day
While this may seem strange to you, it is true. To celebrate the legend’s retirement, New Orleans and Caesars Superdome collaborated on this move. Before the Super Bowl, it was announced that February 5th would be Terry Bradshaw Day. This day would be celebrated every year. The reaction to this announcement has been divided. While some think this is fantastic news, others wonder what happens if Bradshaw reconsiders his retirement.

Now, if something like this happened, then this day’s announcement would be wasted. However, it does not appear like the quarterback intends to make a U-turn. While talking about this topic in an interview, the QB explained, “Winning didn’t satisfy you because you had to do it again. As much as we accomplished, it was hard to enjoy. After Super Bowl 14, I told my dad, ‘I need to retire, I’ve had enough of this. Dad, four Super Bowls in nine years. Four Super Bowls in nine years. I like the sound of that. I didn’t have the balls to not come back… God, I wish I’d have retired. That’d have been so cool.”
So, what are your opinions on Terry Bradshaw’s retirement? Do you think the legend might reconsider his retirement?
