Don’t you feel the Commanders’ journey this season isn’t a fairy tale anymore? Like the team that was lingering at the bottom of the NFL with a 4-13 season could be on their way to the Super Bowl. And it’s not like they haven’t faced some real challenges. Just last week, the Commanders pretty much outplayed the NFC’s No.1 seed, the Detroit Lions. Nobody saw it coming from a mile away against a Lions side that had a 15-win season and a bye week to prepare. So, with the Eagles next, Tom Brady has sent a warning to Philadelphia.

Hopping on the Let’s Go Podcast, Brady was asked to share his thoughts on the Eagles vs. Commanders game. And let’s just say he didn’t mince his words praising what the Commanders are capable of with that tinch of unpredictability factor, “Nobody really expects much of them. But they got a really close team there. They’re going to fight to the end in this with the young quarterback. He goes and plays flawless. It’s going to come down to one drive at the end of the game.” There you go, like most of the games this season. Brady feels Jayden Daniels could be that X-factor against the Eagles.

Like why won’t he be? Wherever the Commanders have found themselves right now, it all boils down to their No.2 overall draft pick. Without him, who knows, maybe the Commanders would still have been left in darkness. Just take a close look at Detroit last week. Playing in a hostile environment with 70,000 Lions supporters cheering their team. Daniels ensured he silenced them with his plays. The former Heisman Trophy winner threw for 299 yards and two TDs. Apart from his overall numbers, Daniels had already snatched the game away from the Lions in the first half.

He threw for 160 passing yards against the blitz while completing 7 of his 9 throws. This helped the Commanders take a 10-point lead going into the second half. His offense, which only punted once, scored 482 total yards. Well, the Commanders, qualified as the sixth seed from the NFC. A team that hasn’t won a playoff game since 2005 is now two games away from Super Bowl glory.

Keeping aside the records for a moment. Don’t you forget that the Commanders will be on the road yet again? First, it was the turn of Tampa Bay to feel the Commanders’ wrath. Then, it was the Detroit’s heartbreak. And now it’s Philadelphia that comes next on the path of Washington’s unstoppable force. But it’s not like the Eagles will bow down just like that. They have some good news themselves in the form of their star QB Jalen Hurts’ availability.

Jalen Hurts set to go toe-to-toe against Jayden Daniels Commanders

See, in the third quarter against the Rams, something happened that definitely worried the Phillies. When Rams’ defensive back Jaylen McCollough sacked Hurts, he simply couldn’t stand properly. That sack left a lasting impact on his left knee, on which Hurts had a knee brace for the rest of the game. Yeah, he did return without missing any snaps. But hurting his knee could reduce Hurts’ mobility. Like the Eagles QB had already scored 14 rushing TDs in the regular season while running for 630 yards. Then, against the Rams, he yet again popped up with a rushing TD, that too from a 44-yard run. So, he clearly has a huge role to play as a dual-threat QB and his knee remains a vital part of it.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Jayden Daniels lead the Commanders to a shocking Super Bowl run, or will the Eagles stop them?

Have an interesting take?

So, when Hurts was asked to give an update on his knee injury, he said, “I’m just seeing how the week will go. Seeing how things progress.” This clearly points out that Hurts is still day-to-day before the Commanders clash. However, Hurts himself didn’t give a timeline for his return, leaving the Phillies second-guessing. His head coach, Nick Sirianni, was the one who offered respite to the Eagles Nation: “We are preparing with him being the quarterback.”

Now, with Hurts probably starting while shaking off his knee injury. It remains to be seen whether he can beat Jayden Daniels. Because he is on a roll. And that the Eagles wouldn’t really prefer to be on the losing side like the Bucs or Lions before them.
