Tom Brady might have a tarnished halo after a recent accusation from NFL legend Terrell Owens. Apparently, Brady could have been an eight-time Super Bowl champion, but a snubbed teammate might have cost him that ring.
The last time Owens suited up for an NFL team was way back in 2010 with the Cincinnati Bengals – a whole 14 years ago! But according to him, he could have still made a difference in 2021. Owens claims he reached out to Brady about playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, the infamous year Antonio Brown’s mid-game walkout left a hole at receiver.
“Tom Brady ignored me, bro!” Owens said on the “Jerry Bubba Dub Morgan” show on July 17th. Owens, a six-time Pro Bowler, believed he could have plugged that gap. “I didn’t need to play a full season, they just needed somebody to at least fulfill some holes with AB leaving at the receiver,” he noted.

According to Owens, he tried reaching Brady through contacts and even via former WR Randy Moss. But Brady allegedly “ignored” him. Now, this perceived disrespect fired Owens up. “It just shows you how like the lack of respect is,” he said, “but when they get in front of you, they want to act like they respect you.”
This snub seems questionable for Brady, especially considering Owens’ Hall of Fame status. Owens also took a jab at Brady’s ego, suggesting “a little bit of arrogance comes into play.” Now, all Owens wanted, he says, was a chance to play, not necessarily be the go-to receiver. “Bro, they had just won a Super Bowl,” Owens declared. “He could have had his eighth Super Bowl!” But, Owens isn’t the only receiver feeling slighted by Brady.

Brown spills on Tom Brady’s role in Bucs walkout
Former Buccaneers wide receiver, Antonio Brown, known for his fiery personality, has been throwing shade at Brady for a while now. Despite crediting Brady for his career boost, he often claims him to be selfish. Remember Brown’s infamous shirtless walkout in 2021? Brown says the Bucs forced him to play with a bum ankle, leaving him frustrated and angry. But what really set him off?

On Tyreek Hill’s podcast last year, Brown spilled the tea. He claims Brady hyped him up before the Jets game, promising a whopping 10-12 targets! “He gonna throw me the ball,” Brown thought, feeling motivated. And guess what? Brown just caught 3 passes on 5 throws, however, leading them to win 28-24 against the Jets. But AB still feels upset, believing Brady convinced him to play while injured.
Things soon went downhill in the final Bowl game. The Bucs faced a narrow loss against the LA Rams, with a final score of 27-30. Recalling that, AB noted how the Brady and team handled the situation poorly. Looks like Tom Brady overlooked two great WRs, AB and Owens, costing him a Super Bowl.
