There’s trouble in Duval County and they might need a specialist to fix their shortcomings. This might as well turn out to be a recap of the 2021 season when the Jags finished 3-14. Even mathematics denies the chances of the Jaguars making it to the playoffs and Doug Pederson is on the hot seat. He’s slowly morphing into Urban Meyers and the Jags might be eyeing on Bill Belichick to fix their issues. And guess what, Julian Edelman might go with him, maybe.
Dianna Russini of The Athletic started the rumors of Belichick potentially joining the Jacksonville franchise next year. Colin Cowherd picked up the conversation and talked about it with Julian Edelman, who was the guest on his podcast, “The Herd.” Though the former Patriots receiver might be open to the idea of reuniting with Belichick, he might need a lot of convincing.
Julian Edelman might think about coaching in the NFL, but there’s a catch

Edelman is quite busy with his social life these days. He has two podcasts to run, after all. We’ve seen how fun ‘Games with Names‘ and ‘Dudes on Dudes’ with Gronk, and Jules are. Would the legendary receiver compromise all that to chase his coaching dreams? Does he even want to coach? Edelman is trying new things, but this might be too quirky, even for him. That’s why it comes at a high price.
“I’ll go coach for Bill if he came on my da-n podcast,” Edelman admitted on The Herd. Colin Cowherd jested and asked Edelman if he would give it a try, just for one season. But Julian’s answer was an unrelenting “no.” He’d have to get paid boatloads of money if the Jags were to compel him to take that offer.
What’s your perspective on:
Could Bill Belichick really turn the Jaguars around, or is this just a wild fantasy?
Have an interesting take?
“No, absolutely no. He can’t pay me enough. It’d have to be seven figures at least, come on. I lived that life, for 12 years, as a player. Coaches get it even worse,” Edelman said lightheartedly. Though it was all fun and games on Colin Cowherd’s podcast, it wouldn’t hurt to see Julian Edelman be the offensive coordinator for the Jags.
On that note, let’s talk about the wild Belichick rumors appearing out of thin air.
Is Bill Belichick joining the Jaguars as HC?
On Tuesday, Dianna Russini shocked the football world with her latest insights on the Jags coaching situation. She is sure that the 8x Super Bowl-winning coach is thinking about joining the Jags in 2025 and it may turn out to be substantial. She revealed more in her latest report.

“Let’s get into this because there’s a lot of chatter about Bill Belichick taking that job,” Russini said. “I can tell you that Belichick certainly has his eye on this Jacksonville opening. This is an organization that has tons of respect for Belichick. They’ve got a good relationship already.”
The rumors became even stronger after the Jaguars’ 52-6 blowout loss against the Detroit Lions. It hasn’t been that bad, at least not with Trevor Lawrence at the helm. He’s been out because of his shoulder injury and Duval County is doomed without the highest-paid QB in the league. Not that they’ve done much in his presence. Also, in three years, the Jags are 20-25 with Doug Pederson as the head coach. Something has to change soon.

The thing is, Belichick doesn’t want to go to a place where he has to rebuild the system. The Jaguars have it pretty good with Belichick’s old pal Trent Baalke. So, it might be a no-brainer for the former NFL coach at some point. But this is NFL and weird things happen all the time. After watching a whole different side of him on TV, the football world might rejoice if Belichick joins the Duval.
