But it was not something that Sanders expected since he ensured to follow every safety protocol, “Despite being double vaccinated, wearing a mask, and taking all the precautions I could… I tested positive for COVID.” Interestingly, the legendary RB is taking this as an opportunity to prioritize his health and well-being. But fans are not ready to see Sanders in trouble.

Fans raise questions

The NFL legend’s health updates have left the fans anxious. Sanders’ health scare has only fueled the fears of his passionate supporters, who are speculating about the future of the general population. “More of the same… incredible. I’m really worried about the future for the jabbed.” Fans questioned the authenticity of the test and commented on the chances of Sanders being fooled, “Fooled by the test  Equally fooled by a poison shot.”

“The vaccine wasn’t meant to prevent COVID. It was meant to kill,” said another fan. Another person in the comment section countered, “Not despite, but because of…” suggesting a belief that the Hall of Famer’s case showcases the necessity of vaccination to mitigate the severe outcomes of the COVID-19 virus. A concerned fan tried to grab Sanders’ attention by trying to convince him about the after-effects of the vaccine, “It was the shot Barry wake up!”.

While the fandom is in doubt about the side effects of the vaccine, the Lions sent a message of encouragement to the franchise legend following his statement. Sanders was last in attendance with the Lions at the 2024 NFL Draft in April. Fans wish for his speedy recovery to make a solid comeback.
