Some QB-WR duos are great. Some are legendary. And then there’s Tom Brady and Randy Moss. No, don’t just call it a connection—it was a full-blown sports movie in real-time. Umm, think Batman and Robin, but if Robin was 6’4” and could outrun an entire secondary. One guy, the ultimate surgeon in the pocket. The other? A human highlight reel who made scoring touchdowns look too easy.
Put them together, and you have one of the most unstoppable forces the game has ever seen. And the defenses? Oh, let’s just say, they totally knew what was coming, but it didn’t even matter. And to relive those moments, you can just hit your ‘X’ account where you will find the height of the NFL ft. Brady-Moss (posted by Brady’s appreciation account). The catch? Even Randy Moss has watched it. Nah scratch that.
He didn’t just watch that highlight reel, in fact, one of the greatest WRs of all time even teased a big revelation about the NFL GOAT and his partner in a crime. Uh-huh, you’re seeing that correctly. Moss reshared the post originally posted by TB EGO and wrote, “Wait til I can tell this story!!GOPATS.”

Guess it has been 15 years since Moss left the Patriots, and looks like we’re yet to hear his side of the story. Sure, we have to wait a little bit more to find out what Moss has to say but who doesn’t love surprises? I mean, of course, the former Patriots’ WR was just for a little bit more than 3 seasons with New England, but still, his connection with Brady was incredible to watch week after week.
Take the 2007 season, for instance, Brady and Moss didn’t just play football, they redefined it. On one hand, the former QB shattered Peyton Manning’s single-season touchdown pass record, notching 50. And Moss? He was breaking the records side-by-side with his QB. The guy surpassed Jerry Rice’s long-standing record with 23 touchdown receptions.
Fast forward to today, and Moss and Brady continue to be a prominent figure in the NFL world—but in different roles. Well, Brady’s been tackling two jobs at this time while being a FOX reporter and a minority owner of the Raiders. On the other hand, Moss made an emotional return to ESPN after battling cancer.
Randy Moss: From battling cancer to an emotional return
Randy Moss who turned 48 just a few days ago returned to ESPN’s coverage of the Super Bowl LIX between the Chiefs and the Eagles. And guess what? Returning from a two-month leave, the Hall of Famer WR was greeted with a video message from Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, Justin Jefferson, Kevin Garnett, and others on the ESPN set.
You can bet the NFL legend broke down to tears before he started covering the Super Bowl. “Guys it’s been hard, but I got a lot of love and a lot of people believing in me,” he said. “I’m happy to be here.”

In late 2024, he revealed that a cancerous mass was found in his bile duct, between his pancreas and liver. For that, Moss had surgery to put a stent in his liver. On top of that, he later underwent a six-hour-long surgery to remove the cancer. As per the Mayo Clinic, the surgery involved the removal of the head of the pancreas, part of the small intestine, the gallbladder, and the bile duct.

Besides, Moss also mentioned that following his surgery, he would also undergo radiation and chemotherapy. “All the prayers, the well wishes, I really felt that, my family felt that,” he mentioned after the surgery. Moss has been with ESPN since 2016 and while getting treated for cancer, he said, “As soon as I get healthy to get back out with guys, I will be on set. … Hopefully I can be with you guys soon.”
Now, you can just say, Randy Moss is a man of his word as he returned for the biggest game of the season.
