Has Fox Sports Network lost its touch with college football fans compared to ESPN's College GameDay?

Working with huge crowds isn’t everyone’s forte. Many fumble their words or aren’t likeable enough to get those crowds behind them. However, ESPN’s College Gameday host Pat McAfee is a different animal when it comes to handling crowds. And on a day when two rival broadcasters find themselves live from the same campus, Happy Valley. McAfee took a jibe at Tom Brady’s employer, Fox Sports Network.

With Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff airing alongside ESPN’s College Gameday coverage, McAfee fired up the crowd by calling shots on Big Noon Kickoff. “This game is not at night. This is a big noon kickoff. Kind of a mixed reaction. I don’t think there’s any people at their set. That’s on them. Not on us.” Well, you can’t really disagree with Pat there, as College GameDay coverage started at 9 a.m. ET. While Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff was slated to start an hour later. Thereby, seeing Penn State fans flooding College GameDay sets isn’t surprising.

And considering the highly anticipated clash between Ohio State and Penn State, the fans would be present in huge numbers at Beaver Stadium. Well, taking jibes at Fox wasn’t the only thing that McAfee did at the start of their show. He also started the “WE ARE PENN STATE” chants, thereby showcasing his energy on the show.

While McAfee called out the Fox Network for their Big Noon Kickoff. Fans were quick to voice their frustrations with calls to boycott, “Anyone caught at the big noon broadcast loses their alumni status. We’ve been robbed of a white out night game.” And the Penn State fans didn’t stop there as some instead called in favor of Gameday, “Nah go to Gameday and boycott Big Noon Kickoff since they’re the reason this isn’t a night game.”

This Big Ten Showdown was supposed to be a night game. However, Fox decided to prefer the noon kickoff, thereby causing resentment among college football fans. While Fox faces backlash from their fans and Pat McAfee, he continues to propel ESPN’s College GameDay coverage to greater heights.
