For us, Eli Manning is definitely a Hall of Fame-worthy quarterback. To the New York Giants and his fans, the 44-year-old is a legend, who has numerous records and titles to his name. 2-time Super Bowl champion. 2-time Super Bowl MVP. 4-time Pro Bowler. Walter Payton Man of the Year awardee. Wow, there’s much to Manning’s illustrious NFL career. In addition, besides all these, he also has a record-setter for single-postseason passing yards in a Super Bowl (1219). But still, the former QB doesn’t think he has done much. Why?

Well, if we look from his perspective, it’s because where he was standing on Monday night at the NFL’s annual meetings at Palm Beach, Florida. Eli Manning was joined by women powerhouse of the sports world – tennis legend Serena Williams, and WNBA star Caitlin Clark, for a panel discussion at the meetings. And the title of their discussion was – “The Changing Face of Sports and Its Impact on the NFL.” But what took the limelight was Manning’s nobility.

Sharing a photo with these inspiring women and Ariel Investments’ Co-CEO and President, Mellody Hobson, Eli Manning playfully acknowledged his career win percentage compared to his peers. He captioned his Instagram post: “Statistically, I’m bringing down the average win percentage of this panel.”

Well, let’s be real! Eli Manning may downplay his greatness, but two Super Bowl rings speak for themselves. He spent 16 seasons with the Giants, leaving behind a legacy that goes beyond numbers. He made four Pro Bowls and won two Super Bowls, but his regular-season record? An even 117-117.

Now, some might see that as average, but when the pressure was on, he delivered. His 8-4 playoff record proves that. While his fellow panelists had more consistent winning records, Eli Manning has something they don’t – two rings that tell the real story. Without any doubt, his legacy stands tall, right alongside his peers. And that humility on his Instagram post? Ah, that’s just classic Eli!

Nevertheless, on the other side, both Clark and Williams are also stars in the sports world. Caitlin Clark is stepping into her second WNBA season, and her rookie year had its ups and downs. Her Indiana Fever finished 20-20 before falling in the first round to the Connecticut Sun. But in college? She was a powerhouse. At lowa, she dominated with a 109-30 record and made two trips to the NCAA championship game.

Then there’s Serena Williams – a legend in every sense. With 23 Grand Slams and 73 titles, she boasts an incredible 858-156 record. Compared to her, Eli Manning’s numbers may not pop, but success isn’t just about stats. Manning won when it mattered most, just like Williams. And Clark? She’s just getting started.

What’s your perspective on:

Eli Manning: Humble legend or just too modest about his two Super Bowl rings?

Have an interesting take?

But when we talk about women’s sports, these two surely are the powerhouses who inspire young generations. However, they still chose a platform on April 31, to encourage women for sports.

Eli Manning and others want a bright sports future for women!

Besides bringing the NFL into the story, Eli Manning, Serena Williams, Caitlin Clark, all joined in to encourage women in the sports world. Talking about the same, tennis star quipped, “Yesterday was a blur and all about the future of women at the annual @nfl Annual Meeting @caitlinclark22 @alexisohanian @elimanning I love future of women don’t you?

No doubt, Serena Williams is one of the biggest leaders in the women’s sports world, and that’s her favorite topic. Earlier too, on many platforms, the 43-year-old has talked about it, such as in 2022, where she expressed, “I like that people are starting to recognize that women do deserve equal pay and they deserve the same that a male gets.” The 23-time major tennis champion began practicing at three years old on a court near her home in Compton, California. And her professional career started when she was just 14, changing the perspective of the sports world.

Now that she has become a legendary player, her opinions do matter. And that’s why the NFL honored Serena Williams by welcoming at their annual meetings, hoping to encourage women in sports. Sharing some glimpses of the event on social media platforms, the league wrote: “Growing the game. Serena Williams, Caitlin Clark and Eli Manning spoke at the NFL Annual League Meeting about the growth of Women’s sports.”
