Does anyone else think that Drew Brees might just be one of the most underrated quarterbacks in NFL history? He’s a Super Bowl champion and a Super Bowl MVP, but somehow, he doesn’t always get the credit he deserves. Drew had a spectacular 20-year career filled with jaw-dropping throws and a level of consistency that’s almost unheard of. Yet, when we talk about the all-time greats, his name often doesn’t come up early in the list.

Well, that’s why we love the internet. It never lets you forget anything. This time, Drew Brees is back in the spotlight. And no, it’s not for another retirement comeback rumor – that wouldn’t make any sense now that the legend is 46 years old. If that did happen, it would be nothing short of a miracle. The reason Drew’s name is surfacing again is a jaw-dropping video of his perfect passes that has gone viral. Thanks to ML Football for serving that up to football fans. The fans are loving it and going crazy over the former Saints QB’s perfect passes.

His former teammate and direct competitor, Luke McCown, was just as awestruck. He had seen it all up close and personal, and the video brought the memories flooding back. Leaving a comment on the video, Luke wrote, “Y’all didn’t even see 90 percent of them in practice… No one ever like it.. ever.

Drew and Luke shared the gridiron for three seasons (2013-2015), with Luke serving as Drew’s backup. Although those weren’t exactly ‘solid years’ for the Saints. They couldn’t secure the Lombardi Trophy during those three seasons, nor even a conference championship. Luke’s final season with the team (2015) was a tough one. He battled through a bruised rotator cuff, because of which he had to miss a few games.

At the start of the 2017 season, the Saints parted ways with McCown, releasing him as they signed Chase Daniel. And that marked the end of Drew and Luke’s era with the Saints.

After the 2015 season, Drew Brees would go on to play five more seasons, continuing with the Saints. Meanwhile, his backup QB, Luke McCown, found a new home with the Cowboys. After playing for a season, he decided it was time to hang up his cleats, announcing his retirement in 2018. Three seasons later in 2021, after gracing the gridiron and serving fans for twenty years, Brees also said goodbye to football – for good.

And what he left behind was a long-built, sweat-earned legacy. Drew’s list of accolades is enough to back his case as a great QB. Then why doesn’t his name often pop up first when we talk about the greatest QBs? Well, it could be the lack of Lombardi Trophies. You know how it goes – the more Super Bowl wins you have to your name, the more people are willing to give you that ‘GOAT’ title.

Tom Brady has it – he’s got seven Super Bowls to his name. And he’s still the ‘GOAT’ to this day. No QB since has come close to Brady. People thought Patrick Mahomes could with a three-peat, but…
