Standing Female Figure (2023), a mixed media work featuring a female figure by George Condo caught quite a few elite eyes at the the Reform Alliance Charity event in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Saturday night. The piece resulted in an infamous bidding war between two A-list celebrities that was promptly translated into a flirtatious banter, setting alight old flames of romance rumors dating back to July 2023. 

The bidding that was initiated at a $500,000 bid was finally closed at $2 million with the artist offering to recreate the original for the second bidder for another charitable $2 million. Quite a deal considering that Condo’s painting, the Force Field (2010) has previously been sold for close to $7 million for Christie’s Hong Kong. But who is George Condo, really? And how is he involved with the alleged ‘Kardashian-Brady’ affair? 

Concord’s Condo is no stranger to Kim Kardashian

George Condo, born in Concord, New Hampshire in 1957, embarked on a diverse artistic journey following his days at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, where he studied Art History and Music Theory, developing a particular interest in Baroque and Rococo painting. Condo’s path led him to Boston, where he contributed to a punk band named ‘The Girls.’ His artistic pursuits then took him to New York, where he worked as a printer alongside iconic artist Andy Warhol. Additionally, he spent a year in Los Angeles, delving into the intricacies of Old Master glazing techniques.

Notably, in 1983, during his first voyage to Europe, Condo forged connections with the audacious Mülheimer Freiheit group in Cologne. This group included notable painters such as Jiri Georg Dokoupil and Walter Dahn, further enriching Condo’s artistic experiences.

The artist has received many esteemed accolades and has become one of the most revered artists in America. Condo has collaborated with celebrities like Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kanye West for his album titled My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. In 2010, Condo and West convened at the artist’s studio in New York for his album’s cover art.

However, during the Reform Alliance Charity, the betting banter drew as much attention as did the painting itself turning into quite a public spectacle.

Kim Kardashian and Tom Brady were seen enjoying a “flirtatious” evening together at the casino-themed charity event. They even playfully flirted while participating in a bid for an expensive artwork by George Condo. All this shines a new light on Kim’s love life, especially with rumors of her romance with Odell Beckham Jr. flying around as well.

The bidding began when Kim Kardashian placed an opening bid of $500,000, and Tom Brady promptly countered with a higher offer. Their bidding rivalry intensified, and sources described their interaction as “playfully flirtatious.” They couldn’t resist exchanging playful glances and sharing laughter during the bidding. Kim outbid Brady at $2 million, prompting the painter to make an offer to replicate his work for Brady at the same charitable amount.

However, this incident brings to the forefront another similar incident from July this year, which had sparked romance rumors between the duo. Even though their ‘flirty’ endeavors have been dismissed as “just friends,” there were definitely ‘more than a friend’ sparks flying around at the yearly Fourth of July celebration, hosted by millionaire and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin at his sprawling $50 million Bridgehampton estate.
