On the field, Nick Saban is widely considered one of the greatest college football coaches of all time, even after his retirement. Off the field, the Alabama Crimson Tide coach is a huge fan of the legendary band, The Rolling Stones. His love for the band dates back to the early 1960s, and he first saw them live in the 1970s while at Kent State. Saban has shared how Mick Jagger once indirectly influenced his early football career, adding an interesting twist to his fandom.

“They have an exceptional ability to deal with success and maintain a high standard of how they do things, even when they’ve been successful for a long time” Saban once said about the Rolling Stones. Seems like his love for the band is still going strong as Saban, and his family were spotted at a Rolling Stones concert, with Kristen Saban Setas sharing their fun night on Instagram, making this a rare sighting of a fun Nick Saban rather than a strict coach.

Nick Saban announced in January 2024 that he was stepping down as Alabama’s head coach after 17 seasons marking the end of an era. While he may have retired from coaching, Saban remains deeply connected to the football world, serving as an analyst for ESPN’s College GameDay. Despite his busy schedule, Saban’s love for the Rolling Stones remains strong. Attending concerts and enjoying time with his family, like his grandson, is now a significant part of his post-retirement life.

In addition to enjoying his personal life, Saban has been involved in various philanthropic initiatives, particularly in the area of education. He has supported several educational institutions and organizations. One of his major contributions is the Nick’s Kids Foundation, which he founded in 1996 to support children’s charities. As Nick Saban moves on from his coaching career, it’s heartwarming to see him having fun and making memories with his family. The Rolling Stones concert was just the beginning of what we hope will be many more joyous moments for the Saban family.
