Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, declared a state of emergency on Tuesday night after massive wildfires spread around Los Angeles County. Luckily, the state also secured a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to take care of the required resources. As emergency crews rushed to contain the fires, one unexpected spectator found himself watching from afar—NFL legend Michael Irvin.

A few hours ago, the former wide receiver of the Dallas Cowboys took to his official ‘X’ handle and shared a video of the LA fires from his balcony in Fairmont. “I just came on my balcony here at the Fairmont in L.A., and I looked over, and there’s so many fires going on in L.A.” Irvin declared through his video.

However, Irvin confirmed that he’s ways away from the wildfires and that he’s guarded in his hotel. “I’m good ways away, but man, that’s, and I’m guarded. I’m as guarded as you can be because you know what? I got the President in this same building,” Irvin said further. Well, good for him. “So, we got so many policemen and everybody patrolling and guarding this hotel, because Biden is here.”

At the moment, three major wildfires are spreading around the County. The Palisades Fire, the Eaton Fire and the Hurst Fire have now majorly covered 4,500 acres of area. Not to forget that Irvin mentioned in his video that there’s a building on fire out in the County. As the way things are shaping up, it appears that a lot of people are out there needing help.

Michael Irvin sends prayers for people’s safety

Amidst life-threatening fires in LA and while being in Fairmont, Michael Irvin prayed for the people who were stuck in those fires out there. “Man, I pray the people are okay there. I pray that everybody is okay,” he said. But the thing is, the fires may get worse in the coming days.

The three major wildfires began to spread on Tuesday and have done a major loss in LA so far, destroying homes that come in their ways. On the other hand, the National Weather Service had also issued a red flag warning for Southern California. Consequently, many people had to abandon their vehicles in order to flee the fires, causing a huge traffic jam. And that folks worked a major chaos as the bulldozers had to move the vehicles to make way for the firefighters.

As for the people’s safety, the governor urged the residents to follow the evacuation order as a precaution. “This is a highly dangerous windstorm creating extreme fire risk, and we’re not out of the woods,” Newsom said. Things are pretty scary for the people in LA. And given Michel Irvin is guarded in his hotel, all prayers to him as well as. Because it’s getting worse for the people who are waiting for the last minute to evacuate.
