Whenever something unexpected happens in the NFL, you can always expect memes. Glorious, unhinged, perfect memes. The Giants have signed Russell Wilson on a one-year deal, and this is going to be the headline until we get an update about Aaron Rodgers. So, when the New York Giants pulled off this move, catching everyone off guard, the internet didn’t waste time showing its creativity.

Somehow, Cowboys legend Michael Irvin stumbled upon this creativity, giving the perfect reaction. So, what’s trending on the internet about the NFL today? Well, number one is, of course, the Giants signing Russell Wilson. And number two is people realizing that the NFC East has now become the first division in history to have four Black starting QBs. Now, this is something for the books. So, when Michael Irvin realized this, he couldn’t help but react publicly.

The Hall of Famer posted a photo on X featuring four stylish Black men in suits, laughing and enjoying drinks. Irvin threw in a mix of disbelief, thinking, and laughing emojis with the photo because sometimes, pictures (and emojis) say it all.

The picture also had ‘The Brothers’ written on it, along with the NFC East logo. Now, just imagine Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels, Dak Prescott, and Russell Wilson recreating the same photo; it would break the internet. A lot of people are going to chime in on this trend now. You can expect at least a week of these memes rolling in.

It’ll be interesting to see if one of these QBs reacts to it. Also, we all need to collectively thank the Giants for blessing us with this opportunity. Well, now that we’re talking about it, here’s a look at Russell Wilson’s new deal with his new team.

Giants land Russell Wilson: Here’s the deal

After the Steelers let Russ walk in free agency, he met with two franchises: the Cleveland Browns and the Giants. Although Wilson first met with the Browns’ management, he walked out of that building without any deal. On March 14, the QB flew to the Big Apple to visit the Giants’ facility. And interestingly, within a day or two, he posted a picture of his stepson, Future Zahir, decked out in New York Yankees gear, captioning, “Future @mlb⭐ @yankees.”

Have an interesting take?

You know the internet is smart. After that, rumors started swirling that maybe Wilson was signing with the Giants soon. Last week, Wilson shared a story of him practicing, and he penned down, “Hard work pays off.” Now, when you put it all together, it makes sense. It was likely that the two had already reached an agreement and were just waiting to announce it until yesterday.

John Mara‘s team signed Wilson to a one-year deal. “The Giants and Super Bowl-winning QB Russell Wilson reached an agreement today on a one-year deal worth up to $21 million, including $10.5 million guaranteed,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Earlier this week, they also signed QB Jameis Winston to an $8 million, two-year deal. So now Giants have got two veteran QBs and the third pick in the draft. It’ll be interesting to see how they use that valuable third pick, whether the team drafts a young QB who could be their long-term solution or adds another talent to strengthen the roster.
