It’s a great day for Real Madrid fans as Vinicius Jr. steps up as the next potential GOAT after leading his team to a 0-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the recent UEFA Champions League. This makes it the 15th time that his team was crowned European champions. Not only did this victory seal his greatness as an outstanding player, but it won him the attention and admiration of Nike.

Vinicius Jr. has been endorsed with Nike since he was 13 but in 2023, the two parted plays due to an internal conflict. Now, it looks like all is back to normal as his relationship with Nike starts anew with a sound foundation. This union has won the approval of former NFL star Colin Kaepernick, who is also a Nike partner.

Colin Kaepernick reposted on his Instagram story what Nike brand marketing agent Giovanni Fillari posted, showing his approval of the giant sports apparel company’s nod on Vinicius Jr. after his recent heroics. In the post was a picture of the soccer star with the caption, “Witness his rise. Just do it.” Fillari also wrote “Vamos @vinijr.”

The retired NFL star has his own campaign with Nike revolving around the quote, “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.” The pair were united in their collaboration with Nike when they joined forces to fight against racism when Vinicius Jr. admitted to the world how Kaepernick’s views for a more equal world have impacted him profoundly.

Earlier in February, Vinicius Jr. posted on his social media that he met and was inspired by Colin Kaepernick who has been open in his stand against racism in both the NFL and American culture. The Real Madrid hero captioned, “Today was a very, very special day for me… Listening and learning the story of a MAN that has been fighting so much against racism was unforgettable for me. Thank you so much, Colin… This day and my conversation with Colin will have a major impact on my life going forward to make this a better and more equal world.”

Nike and their similar situations of growing up as victims of racism connect Kaepernick and Vinicius. Vinicius Jr. has taken his popular social media platform to serve as the voice of the abused. As for Kaepernick, ever since he left the NFL after he kneeled during the national anthem to protest against oppression, he hasn’t been able to find his way back into the NFL. But both the stars are taking their passion in the right direction as they contribute a little bit to making the world a better place.
