Having spent 23 seasons playing in the NFL, Tom Brady forged a legacy that players would find difficult to match in their whole career. With numerous Super Bowl titles and personal accolades, Brady is considered the ‘GOAT’ in football. But right now, the 47-year-old is busy learning new things as he navigates through a career off the gridiron.
Although his first major role post-retirement came as a broadcaster for Fox Sports Network. Brady may have found a new interest, as former NHL enforcer Tie Domi shared on his Instagram stories. As fans witnessed Brady attempting ice skating for the first time, they couldn’t control their excitement. With one of them even calling for him to get signed by NHL teams. “He’ll be good to go by trade deadline.”

As you might know, the NHL trade deadline falls on March 7. And whether Brady can become a professional National Hockey League player before that is a different question altogether. However, seeing him glide through the ice hockey field, holding onto boards for balance, didn’t stop Domi from calling out his son, Max Domi. “Max, he’s coming for you Max. This is 10 min in, he is already fine.” While Domi is known for being the NHL’s most aggressive defenseman of all time, his son Max plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
But those weren’t the only comparisons that Tie Domi made seeing Brady ice skating for the first time. Going back to his first story on Instagram, Domi showcased a list of athletes who made a successful leap from their primary sports. Bo Jackson (football and baseball), Deion Sanders (football and baseball), and Michael Jordan (basketball and baseball). Well, he also put forth the name of Brady for being the first person to make the jump from football to hockey, “They all go to baseball. But there is only one guy that goes from football to hockey. And that one guy is the ultimate GOAT.”
While fans seemingly praise the seven-time Super Bowl Champion for displaying his movement on the ice field, they weren’t too happy seeing the GOAT trying to shoot pucks into a washing machine at Sidney Crosby’s Iconic hockey drill.

Fans call for Tom Brady to sign with NHL teams amid his criticism in August
All you need is one good clip to win over fans in the NHL. And something similar happened with Brady, as he was shown attempting ice skating for the first time. While some of them urged him to get picked before the trade deadline in March, there was one Boston Bruins fan who wanted his team to sign Tom Brady, “Sign him @NHLBruins.” Another was praising Brady for learning new things on his path, “Never too old to learn new things- awesome.”
Well, those reactions didn’t stop there, as another questioned whether he was now the goat of hockey too: “Great, he’s the goat of hockey too isn’t he?” However, going back to August, fans were seemingly unimpressed seeing the NFL GOAT attempting to shoot pucks at old dryers. “Stick to football, Tom,” one of the fans expressed. But that wasn’t the only brutal comment he received as another fan added, “See! Tom Brady sucks!”

Winning over the NHL fans with his latest clip on the ice field says a lot about Brady’s potential. Even though it’s been two years since he hung up his cleats, Brady still has a lot of sports blood left in him. Will he really sign for any NHL teams before the trade deadline next year? Well, that depends upon his improvement under Tie Domi, who has taken him under his wings.
