Football season is over. The Chiefs botched a 3-peat. Patrick Mahomes had a howler. Jalen Hurts got his Super Bowl 57 revenge-winning MVP on the night. The Eagles won their 2nd Lombardi, denying the Chiefs their 4th in 6 seasons. So, with everything that went down in New Orleans. From one QB getting outshined by another at football’s biggest extravaganza, Fox Sports decided to stir up the QB debate with a controversial post. Their top 10 best QBs in the league’s history didn’t really please the NFL community, especially what they did with Terry Bradshaw.
See, people are entitled to their opinions. And a top 10 list that contains some of the greatest QBs to have ever graced the gridiron is bound to create a ruckus. So, let’s start with the No.1 pick, which anyone can guess with their eyes closed—Tom Brady. Arguably the greatest ever to step foot on the gridiron, having won seven Super Bowl titles. Like this was a player that wasn’t anywhere near to being appreciated at the start of his NFL career, Brady was picked as the 199th overall by the New England Patriots in the 2000 draft. Well, what happened after Brady got his chance probably doesn’t need an explanation.
The current Fox Sports analyst holds 3 more Super Bowl rings than his closest challenger, none other than Joe Montana. He had a perfect 4-0 record when chasing Lombardi at football’s biggest stage. Joe Cool was the GOAT before Tom Brady came along with his insane aura and a dagger of an arm. But taking nothing away from Montana, he was a beast in the postseason. Throwing 45 TDs and winning 16 playoff games in the process—those numbers are something that QBs these days can only dream of.

Then, the list was followed by Peyton Manning, who wreaked havoc in the NFL with both the Colts and the Broncos. Even in the twilight of his career, Manning rewrote the NFL history books for throwing 5,477 passing yards and 55 TD passes in 2013. However, he ended up falling short of the ultimate goal in Super Bowl XLVIII. Getting brutally humiliated by Russell Wilson’s Seahawks 43-8. After the Sheriff comes modern-day GOAT, Patrick Mahomes, who was just one game away from probably matching Brady’s legacy. Yeah, he couldn’t do it, but Mahomes has a long career ahead of him, considering he is just 29.
Now, the list also consisted of Broncos great John Elway, Packers legend and Jets failure Aaron Rodgers, his predecessor Brett Favre, Saints legend Drew Brees, and finally Dolphins gunslinger Dan Marino. However, don’t you feel someone is missing? Yeah, you may have guessed right if it’s Terry Bradshaw. The former Steelers QB’s position in the list ruffled a few fans on the X.

Fans call out Fox Sports for their biased Terry Bradshaw take
Whatever top 10 list you come up with. It is bound to clash with other’s opinions. Either their favorite players weren’t positioned in the right places. Or they were completely overlooked by others. And that’s what happened with Terry Bradshaw’s spot at No.7 on Fox Sports’ greatest QB list. There was this fan who called the 3-decades-old Fox Sports analyst “hugely overrated.” Here’s the question: was Bradshaw really overrated? See, the former Steelers No. 1 overall pick was a true winner during the early ’70s to ’80s. All of his four Lombardi’s came in a 6-year period. So, Bradshaw was never really overrated. However, that fan who didn’t like Bradshaw’s position wasn’t the only one to criticize FOX. One Dolphins fan couldn’t believe Dan Marino’s rank, “Ain’t no way you have Dan Marino 3 spots behind Terry f—— Bradshaw.”
Yeah, there could be an argument that Marino had better skills than Bradshaw. He never won a Super Bowl, and that somewhat tarnished Marino’s credibility. Well, the rally against Bradshaw’s position continued with calls to throw him out of the top 10, “Bradshaw is not top 10. He has 4 Superbowls because of the team he was on.”
Yeah, the team could have mattered for Bradshaw to get his success as a QB. But a QB is a heartbeat to every team’s ambition. Without them playing well, there’s no chance for any franchise to win anything. And who knows, maybe the Steelers wouldn’t have kickstarted that golden era without Terry Bradshaw as their QB.
