If there is a teammate who knows the NFL GOAT Tom Brady better than anyone else, it’s Rob Gronkowski. After all, what less can you expect from a duo that played together as teammates at the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers for over a decade and remained friends off the field? The retired NFL TE recently disclosed the importance of Brady’s leadership during their time in New England.
While the NFL GOAT went on to secure seven Super Bowl wins, Gronk fared equally well, bagging four SB championships before he retired in 2021. However, one contention that plaguing both of them is the poor time their home team of Patriots is having this NFL season. Following the last Patriots defeat in the hands of the Indianapolis Colts, the 34-year-old former Patriots player brings to light Tom Brady’s impact on the Patriots during his career.

During his time as teammates with Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski is confident in stating that most of the success that the New England Patriots reaped was because of the 7-time SB champion. Gronk admitted that it was because of the retired NFL legend that the team was able to have a successful stint. He said, “Brady was the meat. He was the ringer in that organization.”
Tom Brady was the face of the Patriots; he knows how to represent himself both on and off the field. Rob Gronkowski admitted that he had felt that the Patriots won’t be the same once Tom Brady leaves, and true to his thoughts, Bill Belichick is facing a dismal season. The Patriots are one of the worst-performing teams this season, with just two wins out of ten games.
Rob Gronkowski went on to say that it was Tom Brady who urged the team to fight their way out when times were tough. He commented, “Now you just watch them, it’s like things are getting tough like they’re just accepting it. It’s like, ‘Oh, it’s alright, we’re gonna lose. We don’t have that good of a team.’ It’s weird, Tom would have never accepted that.”

After Tom Brady left the Patriots in 2019, the team has only managed to make it to one playoff game against their division rivals, the Buffalo Bills, to whom they lost 47-17. Bill Belichick found himself in hot water after the last 10-6 loss to the Colts, with rumors surfacing that he could be replaced.
Despite missing the playoffs last season, this 2-8 season is the worst season for owner Robert Kraft in his three-decade ownership. Patriots QB Mac Jones has been performing terribly this season, and this could potentially be his last season with the team. If this disappointing performance continues, they have a very high chance of being one of the most successful NFL teams to complete this season with the worst NFL record in history.
