Wayne Rooney is not having it easy as the new coach for Birmingham. The former England striker signed on to the Birmingham City team after leaving his role as HC of DC United. After the team missed out on the MLS Cup play-offs, Rooney and the management mutually decided upon his exit.

Birmingham City began the talks for signing Rooney barely 40 hours after sacking John Eustace, despite the team doing wonderfully under his leadership. Since then, Rooney has been under a lot of pressure to perform exceptionally well, but unfortunately, the tide has yet to turn in the Manchester United legend’s favor. But after last night’s disappointing performance, Rooney was compelled to voice the problems in the team in front of Tom Brady.

On December 11, Birmingham City took on the Rotherham side in a much-anticipated game. The fans had been waiting for Rooney to finally deliver a win, but the match ended in a 0-0 score after 90 minutes. Interestingly enough, Tom Brady, the NFL legend, was also present in the stadium, and Rooney was seen talking about him as well as other investors.

He said, “It’s obviously great they [the owners] are over, unfortunately we couldn’t give them a better performance!” They’ve heavily invested in the club and it’s good to have them over.” Thus, with 2 games in, Birmingham City has already lost against Middlesbrough and Hull City. And so while Rooney goes back to the drawing board for better changes to the team, the fans aren’t too happy with him and were seen booing him as he walked off the field.
