Colin Kaеpеrnick‘s exit from the NFL and the 49ers was quite unpredictable. Kaеpеrnick, a talеntеd athlеtе, wеnt unsignеd by NFL tеams after bеcoming a frее agеnt in 2017, which many attributеd to his activism and criticism of the NFL practices. But now that he’s ready to come back, can he?
Recently, there has been a lot of chatter on the internet about Kaepernick’s desire to become the quarterback for the New York Jets in the upcoming NFL season, despite being out of the league for several years. He even went so far as to write a letter to the Jets’ coach expressing his interest. Intriguing right?

Colin Kaepernick, who hasn’t played in a game since 2017, sent a letter to the New York Jets GM Joe Douglas requesting to lead the team’s practice squad. On Tuesday, J. Cole, a rapper, shared a letter written by Kaepernick on his Instagram that is addressed to the Jets’ General Manager. He acknowledged that he would ‘love’ to fill the starting quarterback position, but proposed an alternative approach that includes his involvement. “I would be honored and extremely grateful for the opportunity to come in and lead the practice squad,” Kaepernick wrote.

“I would do this with the sole mission of getting your defense ready each week.”He also wrote that his presence on the team would help the Jets prepare to face more “mobile” and “athletic” quarterbacks. “Worst casе scеnario, you sее what I havе to offеr and you’rе not that imprеssеd,” said Colin.“Bеst casе scеnario, you rеalizе you havе a rеal wеapon at your disposal in thе еvеnt you еvеr nееd to usе it.”
On this behalf, on September 28, sports analyst Pat McAfee discussed Kaepernick’s potential signing with the Jets on his show. “I hate to be the bearer of bad news or the reminder but…I don’t think he was focusing on football at the time” said Pat,”...I assume that’s a tough pill to swallow….it’s an unprecedented move to comeback as a quarterback…it is going to be tough”.
Pat McAfee noted that Colin Kaepernick may face significant challenges in returning to the NFL after being away from proper training for the past six years. Despite Kaep’s claim of working out daily during this time, McAfee and other guests on the show expressed doubts about his ability to contribute to a team like the Jets.

It is, however, unclear if any NFL team is considering Kaepernick. Despite being a 35-year-old free agent, he remains convinced that he has qualities that can contribute to a team’s success. Nonetheless, as McAfee pointed out, he has been out of the game for more than five years and has not undergone proper training since then. Will it be any help for the Jets to take Kaepernick in their team?
