A conversation between Chad Johnson and Shannon Sharpe on Nightcap with Unc and Ocho on pregame rituals reveals the 56-year-old’s discipline as a player. When Ocho asked the retired NFL TE if he had any pregame rituals during his playing career, Shannon Sharpe answered in the affirmative. He said, “I woke up at the same time, I ate the same thing for pregame for 13 years.”

Shannon Sharpe has a diet that most of us would feel is too blunt to be eating for 13 years. The former Denver Broncos star stated that he would have French toast with no syrup, egg whites, and oatmeal. “With a banana and water,” he added with an afterthought. “That was my pregame meal.” In addition to his pregame diet, Shannon Sharpe also had a very dedicated and disciplined attitude towards training. He would be up and about very early, arriving 4-5 hours early at the stadium on game days.

Fellow host Chad Johnson is an equally accomplished wide receiver, but he also has a pregame routine, and it’s not something you would expect.

Yes, Chad Johnson’s pregame routine is to consume half a pill of the bedroom pill before every game. It’s strange to see how Viagra can boost a player’s performance on the field. But Ocho justifies it, saying, “Understand what the pill does. It’s an enhancement with an increase in blood flow to improve performance horizontally, depending on how you do it.

Chad Johnson goes on to say that he is one of the best because of Viagra. He said, “If you take half a pill and take it before a game with a little bit of Red Bull, it increases the blood flow, which turns into an added performance enhancer.” We don’t know if it’s thanks to his ritual, but Chad Johnson went on to complete his career with 11,000+ yards and 67 TDs.
