Colin Kaepernick is more than just a player trying to return to the NFL. Maybe his exit from the NFL is tainted with controversy, but there are lots to like about this free agent. Ever since the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback walked out of the NFL in 2016, he has remained low-key, keeping himself busy with activism.

The humble letter to the New York Jets and the negative outcome is enough to crush anyone coming back with a strong will. But while the news of his rejection from the Jets is overshadowing every other aspect of the former player’s life, his partner Nessa comes to light with his noble character.

Colin Kaepernick’s long-term partner, Nessa, recently posted an Instagram story of a post by Know Your Rights Camp. The post shows his enthusiasm to make the world a cleaner and better place to live in. It reads, “As part of a Los Angeles-based program, we have joined forces with Energy Independence Now and Valley CAN to provide two generously donated Toyota Mirai Hydrogen EVs to our local partners.

Amidst the hubble of the Jets rejection, Colin Kaepernick is doing big things with his Know Your Rights Camp. He started this initiative with his partner, radio and TV host Nessa, in 2016 to empower disadvantaged youths. It is a community that encourages liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities and elevates the next generation of change leaders.

The recent venture with Energy Independence Now and Valley CAN is a step to contribute to a cleaner environment. Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) come with a greater advantage over other cars with less emission, thereby leading to less air and environmental pollution. “These vehicles support their organizations’ incredible work that has been instrumental in creating a cleaner, more sustainable, and equitable future for all.

Kaepernick also wrote, “At KYRC, our commitment to addressing systemic oppression is evident through our actions. We prioritize community well-being and environmental consciousness in our efforts.” Given Colin Kaepernick’s strong stand on his rights, as is seen from the 2016 national anthem incident, he has it in him to make a change.

Following his departure from the NFL after he refused to stand up when the national anthem was playing, Colin Kaepernick made a comeback and gained the attention of social media. He wrote an impressive letter to the Jets GM Joe Douglas requesting him for a practice squad quarterback position. The former 49ers player was confident when he said, “I would do this with the sole mission of getting your defense ready each week.

Despite the petition, Colin Kaepernick didn’t get the position. We can’t be sure if it’s because of his long hiatus from the NFL, his controversial past, or the fact that the Jets already have Trevor Siemian as the practice squad QB. But this may not be the last time we see the 2-time WAC Offensive Player of the Year on the NFL field again.

Colin Kaepernick is a man of vision and hopes to fight for every right that he is capable of. But aside from Know Your Rights Camp and other charitable initiatives, the world is missing out on the skills of this former quarterback on the field. While a football career is hanging with uncertainty for Kaepernick, he is still living a worthy path with activism.
