The NFL GOAT is humbled as younger blood realigns record stats. The legendary QB harbored humble origins in Michigan and held the ninth position on the Wolverines’ all-time passing yards list. However, he was recently dethroned by the impressive display by Michigan’s current starting QB during a game between Michigan and Purdue. Yet that is not all.

There is yet another record held by Tom Brady, and topped by Dak Prescott that is now threatened by a 22-year-old Houston Texans second-overall pick in April’s NFL Draft. Even though Stroud’s team ended up on the losing side, the young quarterback still etched his name into NFL history, within his first five games with the Texans.

C.J. Stroud, the second-overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, narrowly trailing quarterback Bryce Young who was the top pick for the Carolina Panthers, has seamlessly assumed the starting QB role for the Houston Texans. His inaugural performance has been outstanding. He has been able to guide the Texans to a 2-3 season start, despite a close 21-19 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5 on Sunday.

He accumulated impressive performance stats from the game. The record for pass attempts without throwing an interception, held by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Prescott, stood at 176 attempts. Tom Brady, an NFL legend, was second on this list with 162 consecutive pass attempts without an interception at the start of his career. However, Stroud has now surpassed them both.

Stroud broke the record with 186 pass attempts this season without an interception after completing 20 of 35 passes for 249 yards and one touchdown against the Falcons. When asked about the achievement during post-match interviews, he humbly credited the defensive backs for their skills. His ability to outshine Brady’d performance mirrors the outstanding skill demonstrated by yet another young athlete, hailing from Brady’s home team.

In Michigan’s impressive 41-13 victory against Purdue, although not his finest display, Michigan’s young quarterback JJ McCarthy managed to complete 24 of 37 passes for 335 yards, moving him past Tom Brady. In post-game interviews, McCarthy displayed humility and deep respect when asked about surpassing Michigan football icon Tom Brady in the record books, “Obviously it feels great, but that’s just milestones that you collect along the way of just working as hard as you can every day.”
