Is Gronkowski right in suggesting Adams should follow his path and reunite with his old QB?

The word ‘Duo’ is very common when it comes to the NFL. Time and again, this game has produced memorable duos of players to watch for, whether it be Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, or Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams. When it comes to Aaron Rodgers we cannot oversee Davante Adams, they were fabulous together in the Packers. But since their separations, things have been difficult for both Rodgers and Adams.

In a recent discussion, Rob Gronkowski reflected on the importance of chemistry between a wide receiver and quarterback, stating, “It literally takes years in order to get on the same page.” He noted that Adams already has that with Rodgers, making the reunion a natural fit. When asked how meaningful it is for Adams to reunite with Rodgers, Gronk emphasized how their connection would elevate both the team and Adams’ game, “It’s the best fit for him to go back with Aaron in New York.”

The ex-Buccs player added to the context, “It doesn’t happen overnight. It literally takes years in order to get on the same page to understand each other, to understand the way that you know the guy that’s throwing you the ball.” So in other way, it would be good for Adams to be with Rodgers and grow together as they did in the Packers.

The 35-year-old also compared this situation to his own journey with Tom Brady. He recalled how their bond wasn’t immediate at the New England Patriots, saying, “I was all over the place. Tom didn’t understand me as a player, and I didn’t understand Tom.” However, over time, their chemistry flourished, eventually leading to a Super Bowl win with the Bucs. Gronk shared, “That’s why I wanted to stick with him,” highlighting how their years together paid off in the long run. Their stats back it up too: in 141 games together, the duo recorded 620 catches, 9,275 yards, and 93 touchdowns.

Ultimately, Gronkowski believes Adams’ return to Rodgers would be a game-changer, not just for the receiver but for the whole team, adding that it would even help younger players like Garrett Wilson. “They need Davante Adams,” he concluded, stressing how impactful the reunion would be for the Jets’ offense.

As trade talks heat up, the Jets seem like a prime landing spot for Adams. Rodgers needs a reliable partner, and who better than someone he’s thrived with before? The WR’s familiarity with the quarterback is crucial, especially with the Jets’ significant salary cap room. Saints have also emerged as a contender, with Adams’ connection to Derek Carr from their Fresno State days and their brief stint together in Vegas. But as Adams’ future remains uncertain, one thing is clear—wherever he goes, he’ll be ready to reignite his career alongside a quarterback who truly knows him.
