Julian Edelman flip-flops on Aaron Rodgers—Is this genuine admiration or just media play?

In the NFL, it is not uncommon for someone to flip out from their previous statements. At someone’s downfall, people always bash them but when they come back suddenly they are the legend. The former NFL player Julian Edelman recently did something similar.

The former wide receiver aired his bad opinions on Aaron Rodgers a few months back. If you forgot then this was in June when the quarterback was not present at the New York Jets minicamp. At that time Edelman was present at one of the editions of The Herd with Colin Cowherd, and there he claimed, “I think it’s a bad look for your leader, for whatever reason, to go and miss [a mandatory minicamp].”

But now the stories have changed. The former wide receiver’s views on A-Rod have recently shifted dramatically. Following the Jets’ victory over the Eagles in their last game, everyone admired the experienced quarterback. Edelman was expected to do the same now as the team had proven itself. The former star stated on the NFL on Fox, “It was the first time I ever saw hope in the crowd’s eyes and they had a reason to have it. Because Aaron Rodgers was being Aaron Rodgers of the past”

Julian Edelman also emphasized the fact that the A-Rod suffered some hits in the game but he fought back like a warrior. We all know the Jets expected the same thing from the veteran quarterback last season, but perhaps their luck ran out in 2023. This performance by Rodgers was the total opposite of how the former WR was expecting and now his overall perspective may have changed regarding the Jets.

Julian Edelman believes the Jets might be a genuine challenge this season

Well! Perhaps many of us would have predicted that Julian Edelman would say this line. As the former NFL player said in the same show going forward the Jets might be a big roadblock for other teams. The Jets supporters have waited a long time for their team to re-enter the Super Bowl, and it appears like their wait may soon come to an end. If the team continues to play this well, no one will be able to compete with them.

Julian Edelman has also agreed to these terms as he stated, “Like New York Jets, they are looking good. I am not a Jets fan but they are looking to be some promise there. It’s hard for me to say it. It has been a long time for them.”

After saying so many bad things about the team in the past, Edelman realized he couldn’t run from his comments. This is why he later acknowledged that he hadn’t received a gleam of optimism from this team before, but now the scenario has flipped.
