Who’s more impressive: Tom Brady’s football longevity or Terrell Owens diving into swimming at 47?

The GOAT’s got a new stroke! NFL legend Tom Brady is making waves in retirement with his latest fitness obsession. Even after shattering countless records on the gridiron, the seven-time Super Bowl champ has found a new way to turn heads with his rigorous pool workouts. And this time, even the GOAT of swimming, Michael Phelps, couldn’t help but give a shoutout to Brady’s dedication.

On Sept, 23, NFL retired QB took to his official Instagram handle to treat his fans with his surprising swimming workout routine.  Along with sharing glimpses of his poolside workout routine with a plyometric box, Brady detailed his workout routine through a post caption that read, “Color analysts have to stay in shape too!” He explained further that he, “Added some swimming into the workout routine this year… great muscle resistance and some aerobic cardio all at once”.

Not only this, Brady who made his broadcasting debut recently on Fox, also shared the accurate workout detail. “This morning’s circuit below. 4×100 free 4×25 fast, 25 recovery, 2×200 free; 20x Weighted step-up, 20x Heavy resistance band pushup, 10x Box Jump, Repeat x4,” he further added.

Brady looked chill sitting on the plyometric box. His sweet white Nobull drive mesh sneakers were also a showstopper. After the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend shared his cool shirtless intense swimming workout routine, the most decorated Olympian, Phelps, was blown away. He commented on the post, “Swimming now?!? Let’s go!” Looks like 47-year-old Brady left the swimming legend in awe, even though Phelps beat him out on ESPN’s ‘Top 100 athletes since 2000’ list.

Back in July, ESPN released their list of the top 100 pro athletes of the past 24 years. And in the elite list, Michael Phelps secured the first rank while Brady earned the 5th place in the list. But these rankings mean nothing to these legends. Even though they’re retired, people still love them. And their adoration for each other often wins over the internet.

Have an interesting take?

Earlier, in 2022, when the greatest NFL quarterback officially announced his retirement after playing 22 seasons in the NFL, Michael Phelps gave a notable tribute to him. Taking to his comment section, Phelps congratulated the NFL legend, “Congrats bro! Enjoy the next chapter,” he wrote, dropping two hearts emoji as well as a GOAT emoticon.

Besides this, previously, when ex-Buccaneers QB was facing odds on the field, it was swimming legend Phelps who rooted for him with his nice words.  “As an athlete, you root to watch athletes do great and remarkable and impressive things that have never been done before. So you look at Tom having a chance to win his fifth, you gotta root for him,” Phelps remarked at that time. It reflected the chemistry between two different sports legends.

Apparently, Brady also never disappointed him. He made his strong comeback by finishing the game by 34-28,  garnering his fifth Super Bowl triumph way back in 2017. Thus, impressively Brady repaid the faith put in him. Not only did Phelps applaud Brady for his routine, Similarly, Brady has also encouraged him in his swimming career multiple times. The respect and love are quite mutual here! A year back, the former Patriots star, wished him good luck for his competition. “Good luck to Michael Phelps on his final race tonight! Let’s make it 23!!! #RuleYourself #IWILL.”

Looks like the athletic duo indeed share a good bromance while acknowledging the talents of each other.
