What is new for Controversy King Antonio “AB” Brown? Well, not much, because he just got blocked again. After WNBA star Caitlin Clark, it’s time for the Ole Miss Rebels head coach, Lane Kiffin, to refuse to take nonsense from the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers star. Lately, the Ole Miss HC and the NFL legend have been going back and forth on social media until Kiffin took the reins and stopped it in one go. Two days ago, they seemed not to agree on Matthew Stafford’s wife’s scandalous expose. With this, things got spiced up between Kiffin and Brown, so much so that it prompted the Rebels HC to restrict AB’s access on social media.

Now that the SEC championship is knocking at the door, Rebels fans did not expect their HC to get involved in a beef with the former NFL WR on online platforms. But it’s college football and hardly anything transpires per prediction. The disagreement between the two is believed to have hit a rocky patch as Brown posted a screenshot on June 23 with the caption, “Generational Run is f*cking back #CTESPN.” The screenshot shows that the Ole Miss HC has blocked the ex-Buccaneer.

All this started with Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams’ star quarterback Matthew Stafford. Kelly confessed about how she dated her husband’s backup QB only to make him jealous. Where there is gossip, there is Brown. He took up the opportunity to assume that her short-spanned lover was Joe Cox. Brown immediately made his opinion public by calling out Cox, posting his picture from his Bulldogs days and captioning the post, “Cracker of the Day.” Little did AB anticipate that this would end him up on Kiffin’s block list.

Seeing the post, Kiffin responded with “Maybe @AB84” tagging Brown and a thinking emoji. The ex-Buccaneer had an issue with the HC’s take on his POV and came up with a brutal four-word message for Kiffin, “Coach STFU #CTESPN.” And bam! The war between the two flared up. But the Ole Miss HC shared the last laugh as he posted a GIF of the final moments of Brown’s NFL career with a “clown” emoji. Kiffin had to stop it right away since he had some important things lined up.

Kiffin and his squad run high in energy for future pursuits

For this season, Kiffin and Co. will do everything possible to bring the SEC title back home. They seem to draw inspiration from their 11-win season last year and hope to move forward with the same momentum this time as well. To quote the enthusiastic HC, “A couple years ago, we won 10 regular season games and last year, won 11 total games, most in school history. I do think the roster is better than that, but that’s a lot of work to do to be a better team.”

The preparation has already started. The program’s Instagram page at least says so. The players have been seen hitting the field with some grueling practice sessions. Kiffin’s tribe has been so pumped with motivation that even the intense heat that the deep south is known for is causing no hindrance. To give their regular training a turbo boost, Kiffin has installed a new jug machine that will reload on its own, allowing players to work on their own without the help of others to load balls into the machine.

For the entire 2024 season, all Kiffin aims at is not only to qualify for the 12-team playoff but also to compete for a national championship. With two crucial goals already set, how could the HC allow distractions like Brown to come his way?
