With a blend of honesty and wisdom, Deion Sanders delivered a passionate message to his team and Shedeur Sanders during the team’s preseason training. He had some essential life lessons to impart to the team as he inflicted a vital reality check for the young players. He compared his team’s carelessness and how, in the end, they couldn’t shift the blame on others but themselves.

Coach Prime’s candid criticism of his son alongside the team showcases the professional nature of the Colorado training. While he took a practical approach to motivating his team, he did not hesitate to call out some players slagging off in training.

A highlight of Coach Prime’s message to the Buffaloes was the significance of upholding promises and commitments. With full conviction, he declared, “Keep your promises… if you say you’re going to be there at 6:30, you better be there at 6:30.” He elucidated the importance of punctuality and discipline so that his players could be reliable as well.

Sanders elaborated on this philosophy earlier, saying he doesn’t expect his players to arrive on time and create a brutal set-up but respects everyone else’s efforts and be on time. His efforts to develop a mutual bond for everyone at Colorado go a long way, etching forth his coaching philosophy.

I said, mandator, we got a 2:00 meeting, and you better not be late, and if you are and you got an accident, you better bring the person in the casket,” he said as he humorously expressed the commitments he expects from his players. It also showcases the elite mentality he wants to instill in the team, eventually guiding them to glory.  Sanders underlines the importance of acknowledging one’s mistakes and committing to personal growth through these admissions. His coaching method set a powerful example for his team, as well as young coaches, to follow.

Colorado players are expected to uphold promises and commitments

Deion Sanders doesn’t waste time during Colorado’s training sessions; his words cut through the air with raw honesty. While he encouraged his players to embrace individual responsibility for their decisions, he used his example to make them believe. “I did that ’cause I was high, intoxicated… that was immaturity, that was me growing,” he confessed very bluntly to his team. These comments referred to instances when he used to have social media outbursts about games or match conditions, but now he’s taking accountability to affirm his growth.

“Quit blaming everyone else; I appreciate you, love you, adore you, and thank you for everything. If I want to be you when I grow up, think surely I will get there right!” he told his team to set realistic goals and how to achieve them. His constant call for consistency from his squad instills the principle that Sanders wants to cultivate a culture of trustworthiness and accountability in the young team.

This will make the players more mature and prepare them to be future NFL stars. Who amongst the current Colorado team can have the brightest future? Let us know in the comments below.
