During the latest NFL Scouting combine, USC wide-receiver Brenden Rice showed off his speed in front of his dad and 49ers legend Jerry Rice. After a successful college career with 12 touchdowns, he declared for the 2024 NFL Draft and is expected to be drafted somewhere in the late third-round picks. Brenden Rice’s stellar performance during the NFL combine is scheduled to land him a top franchise.
Despite being critical of his pace, he had a hilarious response for his father on social media. Jerry Rice was on the sidelines watching his son perform during the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium. Brenden ran the race faster than his father’s records, who was impressed. However, he did have a critical response, saying, “He’s gotta drag that back foot,” replied his son calling him out.

Brenden Rice is already faster in the 40-yard dash than his father. Jerry Rice had clocked roughly around 4.7 seconds to Brenden’s 4.5 seconds. The NFL official page posted a video of the duo. Jerry was impressed by his son’s speed but also called out his posture. He said, “He’s gotta drag that back foot,” as he held the bowl low and was almost off-balance. Brenden responded comically to the situation, saying, “Pops a hater. I got two feet in,” defending his performance.
