The world has changed a lot ever since Deion Sanders played in the NFL, won 2 Super Bowls, and departed from the league. However now, a piece of his legacy is coming back as he is planning to restart his fling with Nike. After nearly not dealing with the sports giant for about a decade, Coach Prime is back in cohorts with Nike, and this time, he has something timeless for the fans.

Deion Sanders is resurrecting Nike’s Air Max DT which made its first debut in 1996. Since then, the shoe has become a fashion statement for some and a staple sporting accessory for others. But the revival of this shoe has also evoked special memories within Coach Prime because the shoe just made its appearance in the NBA All-Star game, thanks to LeBron James.

Coach Prime is back in partnership with Nike and unveiled the new shoe he’s been working on. The new version is called Air Max DT3, and it is a reimagination of the shoe he worked on with Nike back in 1996. It shoe has a signature “PRIME” logo embossed along with a picture of Che Guevara inside the heel of the sneaker. The current showcased cleat by Coach Prime shows a black and white sneaker with a maize colorway.

The cleat revolves around the B&W themes of the Colorado Buffaloes’ jersey and by next year, we can expect the cleats in metallic Diamond Turf Max 96, designed for the Buffs. While the shoe is not commercially available yet, it has caught on a lot of hype. Being an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, LeBron James was among very few privileged athletes to receive a pair ahead of the launch time.

LeBron James repping a piece of legacy

A recent post on X shows King James taking part in testing Coach Prime’s invention. The All-Star season is on and James showed up on the court with a new style from the old days. The photo shows James rocking the same B&W Maize colorway. Even Coach Prime shared the story on his IG. Word on the streets is that these pairs are already hot and people wouldn’t waste a breath before buying them.

The pair is supposed to be sold for $170 each, but we can expect it to be sold out in a flash. Also, the sneaker version of the shoe will also be available to the masses. With this one move, Sanders penetrated the NBA and the NFL at the same time. Who’s to say that these cleats might end up in the MLB as well?
