Dan Lanning’s unexpected confirmation to continue his ties with Oregon and not opt for coaching pursuits added a layer of suspense. As Alabama misses out on Lanning, the next in the line of potential replacement, with Florida State’s Mike Norvell. However, as per speculation, Norvell will opt for Alabama. Hence, a popular face will reportedly take charge at FSU- none other than Deion Sanders.

Dan Lanning’s decision to stay back at Oregon leaves Alabama in a dubious position as they continue with the forage for their next head coach. Even though, initially, there had been a lot of hope woven around Lanning and he was considered to be an early favorite. But his Twitter announcement confirmed his commitment to Oregon increasing the chances of Sanders cutting ties with Colorado Buffaloes.

However, in between Coach Prime and Lanning, had been another entrant Norvell, who is Alabama’s second choice as a potential replacement. The one-by-one fall down of the prospective coaches imitated a domino effect initiated by the resignation of 72-year-old Saban.
