Travis Kelce didn’t hold his anger back when he lambasted Justin Tucker for ‘the moment’ of the AFC Championship Game. “If you want to be a f—ing d–k about it, you keep your helmet and your football and your f—ing kicking tee right where the quarterbacks are warming up,” Kelce said on his New Heights podcast. “If you’re not going to pick that up, I’ll happily move that for you.”
On Tucker’s side of the story, he was just doing his pregame routine. The only problem was his location. He was warming up near the Chiefs’s goal line. This resulted in the Ravens kicker ending up in strife with Mahomes and Kelce ahead of the actual clash. Analysts on Undisputed had a good laugh discussing it. Amidst that, Richard Sherman mentioned how Tucker was ‘lucky to let go of’. “He just gotta be thankful wasn’t defensive players because they a little crazier than that. And it wouldn’t have been just throw your helmet. It would have been like, ‘Hey, I’m gonna put my hands on you if you don’t get out the way’,” stated Sherman.

Well, per Mahomes, the Chiefs rarely have any pregame scrawls with opposite-team players. Later, Kelce stood up to take accountability for his brash words, apologizing to him, but Kelce also indirectly claimed that it was intentional as Tucker winked at him from across the field. On the other hand, Tucker was ‘ready to let it all go’. Well, two sides of a coin, two sides of a story!
Well, while Mahomes and Kelce had to keep their anger in check, they did use it well in the game, snatching away the AFC Championship and Ravens shot at the Super Bowl after 11 seasons right away from their hands. This, combined with other fumbles from the Ravens’, was to blame for the teams’ loss.

Lamar Jackson’s fumbles
Lamar Jackson’s poor performance came as a huge shock to the Ravens fans. Jackson threw an interception in the fourth quarter with 7 minutes left on the clock. Being an MVP, Jackson had much higher expectations set for him. He finished with 272 yards, with 20 completions from 37 attempts, with his worst completion percentage of 54.1%.

This, paired with the initial tone Tucker set for the showdown, was enough to fuel the Chiefs to give their best daunting performance. With this, the Chiefs would go to the Super Bowl for the sixth time and their fourth appearance in five years.
