The running back for the New York Giants is seemingly on his way out of the team, but where could he possibly end up now? He is a force to be reckoned with on the field, and his presence on the field will increase a team’s offense significantly with the speed and drive that Saquon Barkley brings. Originally a first-round (2nd pick overall) draft choice by the Giants in 2018, Barkley has been with the team ever since.

The number 26 player was riddled with many injuries in the seasons of 2020 and 2021 but will be remembered for the blood, sweat, and tears he poured in for the team for over 6 years. And now that his time is ending with the Giants, here are the top 5 potential NFL teams that Barkely could sign with as per Rich Eisen, with the Chargers taking the number 2 rank.

In the latest episode of the ‘Rich Eisen’ show, Eisen went on to discuss at length the future whereabouts of the Giants’ RB Barkley. The list went like this: the Dallas Cowboys, the Los Angeles Chargers, the Baltimore Ravens, the Green Bay Packers, and the Houston Texans. While all of them are great spots for Barkley, Eisen had the most to say about Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers.

Eisen revealed the number 2 spot as Harbaugh’s team and said, “Number 2, I keep mentioning this. You wanna show up and show out here in Los Angeles? Put stats in the field. You want a running game Greg Roman? See what “Oh gosh, what would Justin Herbert look like with a running game?” How about the Los Angeles Chargers? Jim Harbaugh, serving notice. The sound that you heard a couple of weeks ago was the sound of the Spanos Family velcro wallet opening up for Jim. Keep it going for Saquon.”

Additionally, Eisen referred to the Spanos family splurging on the hiring of Jim Harbaugh, and as such, they should show the same kindness to Barkley in case the transfer goes through.

Though Eisen seemed to be more in favor of Barkley landing in Dallas, his thoughts for the Chargers were loud as well. But with all that said, here’s what Barkley himself had to say about his future with the Giants.

Saquon Barkley wants to stay a giant and be loyal to the team

It would be an unfortunate turn of events for the Giants’ fans to see Barkley leave the team after six years. Moreover, it has been previously reported that the relationship between the team and Barkley had been terminated due to him not receiving the multi-year contract he had been hoping for. In response to his time with the Giants coming to an end, this is what Barkley had to say.

Barkley spoke about his future and said, “It’s a business. If this was my last season, I had a blast, but the beauty is, there’s still a lot left in the tank. If I’m not a New York Giant next year and I’m somewhere else, they will get the leader. They’re going to get a hard worker; they’re going to get a competitor and someone who will compete at a high level to win football games.”

Thus, Barkley believes that he has a lot more left to give, and even if the Giants don’t offer him an extension, he’ll certainly make another NFL team really happy.
