Sure enough, the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl made headlines, but Travis Kelce’s actions toward head coach Andy Reid did not go unnoticed. It was the end of the second quarter and the Chiefs could not score more than 3 points. This is when Andy Reid’s bar of penitence crossed and he opted for tight end Travis Kelce out of the play. Cameras caught Kelce screaming his throat out at Andy Reid while knocking him off balance as he barged into him.
The 65-year-old on the other hand, avoided any eye contact and kept his cool. While Kelce’s behavior garnered backlash, Reid’s composition for being a true professional was applauded by Luke Kuechly on the Up and Adams Show. ” I loved the energy from Kelece, right? I think it says more about Andy Reid and his ability to stay composed in that situation. But I think Reid understands big game. Travis isn’t getting the ball. I think he understands Kelce’s energized, he’s frustrated. And I think Andy Reid really handled it perfectly,” commented Kuechly.

Even Keyshawn Johnson from Undisputed believed that it was all stemming from the pressure of the Super Bowl game. However, this was the second time in the same week that Travis Kelce had a sideline meltdown during the clash. Earlier Ravens’ veteran kicker Justin Tucker, who per Matt Barrow of The Athletic has a habit of practicing near the opponents’ end zone, was at the gunpoint of Kelce’s temperament.
Per several videos that went viral, Travis Kelce is spotted yelling at Tucker, even ‘kicking’ his ball away and then throwing his helmet. Even Patrick Mahomes was spotted kicking away Tucker’s holding tee in the pregame brawl. This was followed by a similar incident in the very next game, the Super Bowl 58 precisely, not with their opponent but with their head coach at gunpoint. Seems that Coach Andy Reid isn’t too upset with the incident, as gathered from his statements post-game.

Reid said to ABC, “He caught me off balance. I wasn’t watching. He was really coming over and saying, ‘Just put me in, I’ll score. I’ll score. So, that’s really what it was. I love that.” Despite the statement from the head coach, fans aren’t ready to drop the criticism just yet.
