You know when Jerry Jones was quiet, there was one speculation after another—if the Cowboys were going for a contract extension with Mike McCarthy. What happened now? The owner has woken up and McCarthy is long gone from Dallas. That one move from Jones shook the entire Big D. But that doesn’t mean there would be no speculations now. There are; but this time the tables have turned and rumors are circulating for a new head coach for the Cowboys.

Who’s it gonna be? There are some in the queue for the role. The most notable one? It was Deion Sanders until now. The former Cowboys’ cornerback, Adam “Pacman” Jones, shared some key details about the Cowboys’ next head coach on the Pat McAfee Show. And according to him, it’s not Sanders.

“Deion is not leaving Colorado by no means necessary unless he is able to coach both his son, which I don’t think that’s possible,” Pacman declared on the show. Sanders was a great choice for the Cowboys, considering his head coaching track record. But the thing is, Sanders seems to be in no mood to return to the NFL as of now.

The reason? Pacman mentioned that he’s quite sure Sanders had a meeting with Jerry Jones regarding the head coaching role. Wanna guess the answer? The current head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes football program said that the head coach opening was “intriguing” but he loves the school and its community. That’s where Pacman’s statement kicks in, as Sanders is not looking to leave Colorado unless he’s able to coach both his sons.

“I think the biggest thing for Deion is being able to coach his boys at the next level,” Pacman further stated. One speculation’s sorted, but it brings another one. Now, who’s gonna be the next head coach of the Dallas team? Luckily, the former CB for the Big D has an answer for it as well. During his chat with Pat McAfee, Pacman tentatively confirmed the next HC for the team.

“All first and foremost the next Dallas Cowboys coach is gonna be Kelly Moore. Everybody knows that with the relationship that’s over there,” he finished. Not to mention that just a little more than 24 hours ago, the NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Cowboys have officially requested to interview Moore for their HC job. That’s some nail-biting stuff from the Cowboys.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Jerry Jones ready to break the bank for Deion Sanders, or is Kellen Moore the safer bet?

Have an interesting take?

Is Jerry Jones going to break the bank for a $10 million hurdle?

When it comes to money, Jerry Jones is no stranger to providing lucrative deals in the NFL. But here’s the kicker; those lucrative deals are somehow limited to the players only. Hear this out, for instance. Yahoo Sports’ Jori Epstein, mentioned that Jones is philosophically opposed to “paying for services he’s not receiving” and values the “market price of players more honestly than the market price of coaches.”

And the same thing seems to happen with Sanders if he decides to return to the NFL with the Cowboys. The reason? Well, Sanders’ contract worth $29.5 million with the Colorado Buffaloes includes a $10 million buyout. Considering Jerry Jones had a chat with Sanders for the HC job, this $10 million buyout clause is not something that can be easily overlooked or dismissed. And Jones and Sanders know that pretty well.

Now, if Sanders chooses to leave Colorado for the Cowboys, he’ll surely demand a mega contract deal along with the buyout payment. That’s how it would be a major obstacle for Jerry Jones and the Dallas team. Whether Jones is going to break the bank for the HC role or not, is one question that’s going to create some major speculations in the time coming.
