The Cowboys‘ season has been a wild ride, and honestly, fans are just done. The playoffs are out of the picture, and after some painfully bad games, everyone’s wondering the same thing: Is Mike McCarthy getting the boot, or is he somehow sticking around? Jerry Jones isn’t helping either. He has been as vague as ever, leaving everyone guessing. And, let’s be real, we all are a little ticked off. But, we got some news from an NFL insider.
Here’s where things get interesting. NFL insider Dianna Russini dropped a little bombshell on Scoop City, saying, “I have spoken to people around the league who believe that Mike McCarthy will be safe.” Yep, you read that right -SAFE. Fans are scratching their heads. ‘Like, why man. why him?’ This is the same coach who managed to fumble some key games. Remember Week 5 against the 49ers? Total disaster, thanks to awful clock management. And don’t forget Week 13 when the Cowboys blew a 14-point lead to the Eagles-baffling play-calling all around.
It’s not like the team was terrible on paper. The Cowboys have a top-10 offense in total yardage, but what good is that if you’re throwing games away with bad decisions? Fans have been all over social media, roasting McCarthy and the front office, accusing them of settling for mediocrity. And now, with Russini’s report floating around, it’s looking like McCarthy might actually be back next season, much to everyone’s frustration. Like, logically speaking if a person isn’t working properly, we either replace them or tell them to do things right. But both are impossible here.

It’s all just talk for now, but Cowboys fans are so over it. They’ve seen what this team can do, and to watch them fall short because of coaching? Yeah, that’s the last straw. If McCarthy stays, you can bet the fanbase isn’t going to just let it slide.

Jerry Jones dodges HC future unclear
Meanwhile, Jerry Jones isn’t making things any better. After the win against Tampa Bay, Jones was spotted hugging Mike McCarthy on the sidelines, which some fans took as a sign he’s sticking around. But when reporters asked about the coach’s future, Jerry dodged like a pro, saying, “All I can say is what good of a job he’s doing.” Translation: I ain’t saying, nothing.

Fans are fuming. They’re calling Jerry out for dodging questions and refusing to own up to the team’s issues. Instead of giving a straight answer, he’s leaving everyone hanging, and that is driving people crazy.

Here’s the thing Jerry has a history of sticking to his decisions and doing micromanagement, no matter how unpopular they are. So, is Mike McCarthy staying? Honestly, who knows at this point? But if Jerry does keep him, Cowboys fans probably aren’t gonna stay with them for long.
