Their recent 27-10 defeat to the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium highlighted this slump. Despite their weak display during recent performances, they secured the No. 5 seed.

They are progressing to the NFC playoffs and will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A significant event in their last game was the injury of A.J. Brown. It resulted from a contentious hip drop tackle. Dr. Brian Sutterer provided a comprehensive breakdown in his analysis of A.J. Brown’s injury. He successfully highlighted the intricacies involved in it. The doctor pointed out the mechanics of the injury. He said, “Initially, Brown’s knee was in a neutral position, but it buckled inward due to the tackle.” Sutterer elaborated on the term ‘valgus load,’ and explained that it is a force that pushes the knee inward from the outside as a critical aspect of Brown’s injury.

He said, “In this case the thing that I would be most concerned about would be an injury to Brown’s MCL now this is also a way that you can suffer an ACL injury.” He further added, “But I don’t necessarily see any of that shift in the knee. And, we did get some reports that it seems like his ACL is intact so, I still would be concerned about an MCL sprain in Brown’s right knee.”

While reflecting on the complexity of such injuries in sports, he noted, “Determining the severity can be difficult, especially in games of varying importance.” Then he went ahead to analyze another injury. Not to mention, Eagles QB Jalen Hurts also got injured during the game.

Jalen Hurts injury causes concern for the Eagles

QB Jalen Hurts was withdrawn from the game against the Giants just before halftime. At that time, the Eagles were trailing 24-0. The decision followed an early second-quarter incident where Hurts injured a finger on his throwing hand.

His injury occurred after a hit from New York’s Bobby Okereke. Hurts attempted to play through the pain. However, he managed only seven completions from 16 attempts for 55 yards. He also managed just one interception and a modest four rushing yards on two carries. His visible struggle and the injury led to his early exit from the season’s final regular game.
