Sports fans have different views on the game of golf. While many think of golf as a leisurely sport and a way to relax, others dive into the deeply competitive back and forth. No matter which side of the spectrum you find yourself on, the allure of golf just eventually gets to you. And the same has happened with Pat McAfee, who made his opinions about the sports and its weather public.

Avid lovers of golf would describe the sport as a battle for self-perfection, where each swing is equivalent to looking in the mirror. Casual observers might, however, have a different opinion, and NFL veteran Pat McAfee certainly made many grins with his unique analogy. McAfee isn’t a complete stranger to the sport as he can be often spotted in the greens with other NFL legends.

Pat McAfee and his Golfing ‘Dreams’

Just a few days back, McAfee indulged in a golfing experience with the Mannings. Keeping up with his brand, McAfee divulged a ton of details from the incredible golf trip, even poking fun at Eli Manning’s “pterodactyl swing”.

Days after the retreat, McAfee had Chris ‘Soly’ Soloman, the founder of the “No Laying Up” podcast on his show and the two had rather definitive takes on the game of golf.

“Golf is a very perfect but watch with the hands of another one or another. It’s like perfect sleeping weather but I don’t know enough about golf,” said McAfee being as self-aware as he is.

Despite acknowledging his lack of knowledge about the sport, McAfee appeared fairly well-versed with the latest happenings. According to McAfee, he watches golf enough to have an opinion but understands that his expertise lies everywhere.

A long-found passion

Even though Pat McAfee’s comments make him seem somewhat ignorant of Golf, the reality is something else. McAfee has been regular at major golfing events, even participating in the American Century Championship. Despite McAfee being one of the rookies at the event, carded four pars (all on par 3s) during his opening-round 91 as he scored minus-seven points.

However, this wasn’t the first time that McAfee had been invited to the ACC. “A couple of years ago I was invited, but I had not played golf in, like, four years, so I didn’t want to disrespect the sport. I didn’t want to disrespect the event,” he said.
