Interestingly, he was once in a position to play against the GOAT of golf, Tiger Woods.
Brady was part of one of the first editions of the Match that took place during the pandemic. However, before he faced off against Tiger Woods and his old friend, the competitors got on an intriguing video call that involved a lot of trash talk. In fact, Brady’s partner’s jabs went far enough for Woods to subtly drop a cold comment of success.

Before they took place in the Match, the four competitors took to a unique kind of interview. As it was during the pandemic, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Tiger Woods, and Phil Mickelson took to a video call with Ernie Johnson to talk about their upcoming game. The match-up was fixed to be between Brady-Mickelson and Manning-Woods.
During the call, Mickelson took to a round of friendly trash talk. He made some friendly jabs towards Woods about winning a Green Jacket and receiving one from him. As Mickelson pointed towards a picture with this scene playing out, Woods responded in a hilarious manner. He said, “I just got an ice bath and I’m a little bit chilly,” and pulled out his own Green Jacket to show off his own accolades. The banter then ended there with Johnson applauding Woods for his comeback.
While their exchange of words was just a matter of playful camaraderie, all four of the athletes came prepared to play in the Match. With a close game throughout, the Match ended with a slightly unsurprising outcome.

The Charity Game’s outcome
While there was a lot of trash talk going on between both duos, their actual showdown was very interesting. Woods and Mikelson went on to rekindle their old rivalry as they played in the Champions for Charity event. Woods teamed up with Manning while Mikelson teamed up with Brady. The duos competed against each other in a round of four-ball golf. While it was a close match, Woods and Manning were able to beat out their star-studded opponents by one hole. On a more serious note, they were able to raise more than $20 million for the cause of battling COVID-19.
All in all, the four athletes were able to bring about a very successful edition of the Match. There combined efforts of making the game a popular edition was successful in bringing in a lot of money to help people during the troubled times.
