In the turbulent storm that is Tom Brady’s personal life, the only stories coming out are of his past relationships, and future ones. But it is not that easy to forget that Brady has a passion outside of football. His exploits in golf leave many of his peers in stunned silence, as many of his golfing partners recall.

Brady has nearly 40 years of experience playing golf, taking his first steps in the game when he was 4. Back then, he and his father enrolled in a golf tournament, which they eventually lose. Brady’s father recalls that Brady started crying when Brady Sr. holed a long putt. But on the very next hole, when given an easy tap-in chance, Brady smashed it as hard as he could. His reasoning? He wanted to hit the ball hard.
Professional Golfer Jordan Spieth recalls his encounter with Brady from back in the day. Spieth beat the GOAT at the last hole to win the game, and apparently, The QB refused to speak to him for an hour and a half. “I feel like I’m very, very competitive. He is the most competitive human being I’ve ever met.”

Golfer Keegan Bradley has a funny anecdote to share too. Once, Bradley ran into Brady, and they set up an impromptu match. “And I win the first hole. I go, ‘TB, I’ll give you a buyout if you want,’” Bradley says on GOLF’s Subpar podcast. “I just start chirping. And then he runs off and plays the next 14 holes in four under par. Beats me 6 and 5. He’s really good. I couldn’t believe it. Those competitive juices kicked in and he smoked me.”

Brady‘s passion for golf starts from a very young age. He initially used golf as a means to spend more time with his father, and away from his sisters. “It was just a great thing to do growing up,” Brady says. “You were out in nature, and you got some exercise and got a lot of bonding time.”

Recently, the athlete has also released his own golfing line, through his brand BRADY. The apparel brand was in the news recently after signing multiple NIL deals with college athletes, including NFL legend Deion Sanders’ son, Shedeur Sanders. His golfing journey has come a long way too. He regularly plays at the Augusta National, and his golfing partners include U.S. Presidents. A dream come true indeed, for a college kid driving golf carts.
