The AFC North witnessed a nail-biting encounter in week 1 of the 2022 season. Pittsburg ruthlessly slayed Cincinnati 23-20, making a surreal impact with a dominant defensive force. The highlight of the game was the candid moments shared between star wideout, Ja’Marr Chase and Steelers’ safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick was named the AFC Defensive player of the week after showcasing a stellar play against the Joe Burrow-led side. From the beginning of the game, fans felt that it was too much to handle in week 1, especially after Fitzpatrick mentioned ahead of the game that he despises the Bengals and wants to take them down. Certainly, he lived up to his word with 14 tackles and an interception on Burrow’s first pass of the season for a 31 yards touchdown.

Indeed, it was a big blow to the Bengals’ offensive unit, with Fitzpatrick unanimously controlling the entire field. Just like the safety, Bengals’ second-year wideout, Ja’Marr Chase was the star of the game. He nearly brought the team towards victory, catching 10 passes on 16 targets for 129 yards. However, everything got ruined after Fitzpatrick blocked McPherson’s fine kick with his finger and pushed the game to overtime, which went the Steelers’ way.
During the second quarter, after Chase’s third interception, the wideout was caught on camera offering two birds to the defensive star. It takes nerves to challenge the former All-Pro safety with a second-year wideout; however, it all backfired after Fitzpatrick showcased his dominance on the field, bringing the first win of the season home.
“I’m going to go out there and do whatever Coach T [Mike Tomlin] asks me to do and whatever the team needs me to do in order to win,” the 25-year-old said ahead of the face-off, which he fulfilled by a great margin.
NFL fans were in utter disbelief watching Minkah Fitzpatrick and Ja’Marr Chase setting the field on fire
The Steelers vs the Bengals was one of the most exciting games of week 1. While the Offensive side of the Bengals tried to dominate, the Steelers’ showcased a classic defensive attack with Minkah Fitzpatrick in the front seat. One of the fans asked to hang it in a frame.
