Lewis Hamilton can arguably be called the greatest ever to grace the world of F1. With over 100 race wins and seven world championships to his name so far, his greatness is unquestionable. The British racer, despite being a legend himself in a recent chat with CNN, revealed his admiration for NFL star Tom Brady.

In the interview, the 36-year-old Briton revealed his appreciation for Brady’s leadership skills and his attention to detail. Moreover, Hamilton also shared if he thinks of competing at the highest level till the age of 50, just like Brady recently claimed.

Speaking to CNN Sport’s Coy Wire, Hamilton straight up acknowledged the greatness of Tom Brady. According to him, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star has a mentality that is next to none. His drive, training regime, and his push for perfection are what sets him apart. The Mercedes driver also highlighted the leadership skills of the NFL legend.

“I think it’s really kind of the mentality of an athlete: the drive, the training regime, the attention to detail, and the kind of the constant push for perfection. But also the teamwork element of being the team leader, being a part of a large group of people who are all driven towards a common goal”, he said. “He’s such an incredible leader, so I take more inspiration from that,” he added.

Will Hamilton race till he is 50?

When quipped about playing till the age of 50, the F1 star chose to remain coy and said that he hasn’t thought about it. The only thing he confirmed was he would never quit the sport at a recreational level. “I don’t think I’ll be racing until I’m 50. But who knows? I’m for sure going to be doing things like it,” he said, smiling. “Whether it’s skydiving, whether it’s surfing, whether it’s just going to a local track, go-karting with friends, or whatever it is. I think I’m never going to give it up necessarily, but perhaps, professionally, I’ll have to,” he added.

Recently, the 44-year-old Tom Brady was also asked this question by Rob Gronkowski in “Tommy & Gronky” to which the quarterback cheekily replied that it won’t be that difficult. He was confident that he could pull it off. “Can Tom Brady play until 50-years-old?” Gronkowski asked — to which Brady playfully replies, “I don’t find it so difficult… so I feel like I can play, then glide into retirement [in Florida]. I think I can. It’s a ‘yes.’”
