Amidst the ongoing negotiations, the NFL Players’ Association became an advisor for Lamar Jackson. As per Dov Kleiman, the NFLPA said LJ to hold off on the deal that does not value him. After the entire overhaul from Deshaun Watson’s fully guaranteed contract, the players’ association does now want to see the quarterbacks market leveling down.

The NFLPA’s involvement in Jackson’s contract negotiations brought divisive reactions from the NFL fandom.
One user saw the need to hire a competent agent for QB1.
Instead of the NFLPA advising Lamar on his contract, they should be advising him to hire a competent agent. This is an extremely poor negotiation at this point. Somewhere in this process there's a bit of common sense missing, idk by whom, but in one side or the other.

Another user said Jackson is better than all other QBs.
Not to mention he’s better than every QB on that list at this current time

However, this user said to not trust the NFLPA.
Not sure if he should trust the NFLPA tho…. NFLPA wants all the interest from the escrow money for themselves. That interest could literally be future money to help pay players on team… if the team got to keep that interest instead

A Browns fan is witnessing it as some bad news.

This user is wondering why it did not happen with Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson’s deals.
Why didn't that happen with Kyler or Russ's contracts though?

Another user is still wondering how did they deal with the Browns with such finesse.
Still trying to figure out how Watson finessed the Browns that hard

This user said if the Ravens don’t pay up, other teams will.
I think if Baltimore doesn’t pay, someone else will.

This user disputed that the Browns gave Watson a bad contract.
Reset? The browns just gave a bad contract, now all teams gotta do that? Ok

The NFLPA’s executive director mentioned, “This is a pivotal moment because right behind Lamar, as talented as he is, think about the number of quarterbacks coming up right behind him… So literally the weight of whether we move forward on guaranteed contracts [is] now. You’ve got the Watson contract that could be bookended Lamar’s contract.”
