De’Von Achane, a product of Texas A&M stunned football fans during the first 4 games of his 2023 rookie season with the Miami Dolphins. In his first year of playing football, he recorded 5 touchdowns, 460 rushing yards, and an average of 12.1 yards per rush attempt. But his time on the field was cut short when he was out for more than a month due to a knee injury. Achane was finally slated to return on November 19, for the game against the Las Vegas Raiders. But alas, it was not to be.
Before we could see what the promising rookie had to show us, another ill-fated injury has taken him out. He has just played 4 game this season, and it looks like it will take time before we get to see more of him.

The Miami Dolphins’ official X page shared the heartbreaking news. “De’Von Achane has a knee injury and is questionable to return.” Achane was just activated ahead of the Raiders game from injured reserve and it seems he will be spending his time on the sidelines again. In the Week 11 game, he was seen limping to the sidelines. It seemed he had aggravated his knee injury during a short carry just 9 minutes into the game.

He gathered enough strength to walk off the field himself and was examined by his trainers before heading into the locker room. Head Coach Mike McDaniel had told reporters that Achane’s injury was “more of a sprain” than a ligament tear. Still, the Dolphins wanted to err on the side of caution and keep him out of action and let him rest as long as they could let him. But the misfortunate injury still happened, and the Dolphins will lose out on an important offensive weapon.
Achane was a powerful asset for the Dolphins
His best performance came in the game against the Denver Broncos, where he totaled 233 yards, including 203 rushing and 4 touchdowns. Achane has 5 rushing touchdowns and 2 receiving touchdowns under his belt. And that too just from 4 games!

But it might surprise fans to know that when he was drafted, the Dolphins had low expectations from him. Achane was initially burdened with fewer expectations due to his small build. He is 5-foot-9 and weighs 188 pounds. He was also nursing a shoulder injury, which restricted him from being a part of Miami’s starting lineup.
