On Monday Night Football, the Bucs will take on the Saints for the second time this season. Ahead of that game, Tom Brady talked about the Bucs’ chances to qualify for the playoffs. Interestingly, Brady referred to an infamous boxing match between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield to describe their current situation and the match-up against the Saints.

Earlier in the season, the two teams had a feisty battle, as the Bucs’ wide receiver Mike Evans and the Saints’ cornerback Marshon Lattimore got involved in a massive brawl. As Brady gave a boxing reference, it will be interesting to see if there’s still bad blood between the sets of players when they face each other again this Monday.
Tom Brady compares the Bucs’ situation with the Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield fight
In the latest press conference, Brady talked about being in the no.1 position in the NFC South division despite a 5-6 record. “We have a losing record but the best part is we’re still in first place in our division. Again, which is hard to imagine,” Brady said.

Then he talked about the second fight between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. “It was like when Evander Holyfield got bit on both his ears and still won the fight against (Mike) Tyson. It wasn’t pretty but he still got the job done,“ Brady further said.
Notably, Brady was mentioning the infamous Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield 2 fight, which took place on June 28, 1997. In the most bizarre scene, Tyson bit off one part of Holyfield‘s ear in the third round, which eventually got Tyson disqualified from the match. Later, Tyson also lost his boxing license for a while, before getting it back.

As mentioned earlier, despite their losing record, the Bucs are still on top of the NFC South, which also had the Saints sitting in the last place with a 4-8 record. Speaking about the Saints, last time they lost to Brady and Co. by 20-10. However, the game grabbed plenty of headlines because of the fight between Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore.
Lattimore appeared to be saying something to Brady, which irked the 7-time Super Bowl Champion. As they were arguing, Evans came out of nowhere and pushed Lattimore onto the ground, which started the big fight. The referee ejected both players. Later, Evans received a one-match ban for his actions. Notably, Evans and Lattimore have a history because Evans previously got suspended for one game back in 2017 for his altercation with the Saints‘ CB.
