The Miami Dolphins so far have shown Super Bowl promise. With an offense that can perhaps be only rivaled by the Chiefs, they’re also off to a 3-1 start. But after Friday’s practice, the injury report was concerning. The Dolphins’ offense has key casualties that could weaken it against the Giants’ defense. Will the Dolphins lose out to a 1-3 Giants?
After the Bills’ defeat, their winning streak was cut short. Until then, they were the only unbeaten team along with the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles. Will they manage to clinch a victory this time?

According to the latest injury report released by the team on Saturday, the Miami Dolphins are riddled with injuries. Guard Robert Jones and DB Nik Needham were ruled out of the Sunday game due to knee and Achilles injuries, respectively. OL Connor Willaims was LP with a groin injury while Guard Lester Cotton was down with an ankle injury and LB Jaelan Phillips with an oblique injury. They have been listed as “Questionable” in the injury report. The report did have a silver lining. DeShon Elliott, who missed the Buffalo game because of a groin injury, did not have a status designation which usually means that he’ll be good to go.
The Dolphins provided a key injury answer when they placed 4x Pro Bowl Tackle Terron Armstead on injured reserve. Armstrong had suffered a knee injury and had left the game. In his absence, the Dolphins met with a resounding 48-20 defeat by the Buffalo Bills, losing their unbeaten streak. His absence had created a roster spot for Friday’s acquisition of the Bears’ Chase Claypool. Armstead, who had played only two games this season, will be sidelined for at least the next four games. The Giants seem to be faring not much better either with 11 casualties.
Giants is riddled with injuries!
Over at the Giants’ camp, Guard Shane Lemieux, Center John Michael Schmitz, and OT Andrew Thomas have been ruled out of the Dolphins game. However, the highlight of the list was Saquon Barkley who is suffering from a high ankle sprain, and remains “questionable” for return. Even if he manages to fight his way into the Giants’ lineup, he will be running behind a weakened offensive line. The Giants, so far, have lost by double-digits in each of their three prime-time games.

If the Dolphins’ Phillips misses the game, Andrew Van Ginkel is expected to start in his place. With Williams, his backup remains Liam Eichenberg, who made his first career start at center against Buffalo. Terron Armstead is in charge of protecting Tua Tagovailoa from hard snaps, and he has been solid throughout the 2023 season. His absence will be a blow to the Dolphins’ offense.
