With Rodgers sidelines, backup QB Wilson shouldered the responsibility and the Jets ended up defeating the Bills. However, what followed next were two consecutive losses with Wilson often under-performing. 


Fast forward to week 4, the showdown with the Chiefs. That’s when the Jets hit their stride. Now, Kansas City Chiefs’ Head Coach, Andy Reid, was downright impressed with what he saw. He didn’t hold back in a post-game presser. Reid had some serious love for the Jets and their defense, calling them one of the best in the league. And he couldn’t stop raving about Wilson, saying he was on fire and what a moment of pride it was for the Jets.

When asked about Wilson, Reid laid it out plain and clear, “he’s a good athlete, we know he’s got the talent… he’s a young guy and it’s hard to have patience in New York.”

In the heat of battle, the New York Jets squared the score at 20-20 during the thrilling third quarter. The pressure was on, and the Chiefs were stumbling a bit.
