Aaron Rodgers sustained an Achilles injury during a game against the Buffalo Bills, leading to his abrupt exit from the season. He underwent surgery and is currently in the rehabilitation process. On Friday, he made an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show from a rehab facility in Southern California.
When the legendary quarterback joined the New York Jets, it was seen as a ray of hope for the team to achieve greater heights in the NFL. However, after just four plays, he had to leave the field for an indefinite period. Speaking to McAfee, he discussed the possibility of returning for upcoming matches.

An Achilles injury is considered a career-ending setback for players. Rodgers is going to turn 40 this year, so there were talks that he might retire. However, his latest interaction with McAfee suggests that he is not planning to retire anytime soon and is eager to get back on the field.
During his latest appearance on McAfee’s show, he said, “These types of injuries can take a lot of time. It can take a lot of time as it can be six, eight, 12 months. There’s been a few guys that have come back at 4 1/2, Cam Akers came back at 4 1/2, a couple of guys have done five months.”
He went on to clarify that he hadn’t set a specific timeline for his comeback. “I don’t want to get caught into a timeline, I just want to get healthy, honestly, mentally and physically. But I’m going to do everything I can rehab-wise to put myself in position to play football again at some point and that’s the goal,” said Rodgers.
Rodgers also mentioned that he misses his teammates and sometimes feels a bit isolated, saying, “It’s like the reverse darkness retreat.”
There are some reports suggesting that Rodgers had a ‘speed bridge’ procedure, which can expedite the typical rehabilitation process.

On Friday, Jets coach Robert Saleh expressed hope that Rodgers would return to the team facility next week. However, it is highly unlikely that Rodgers is close to returning. “I would like to be able to walk, so whenever I can walk, I probably will be back,” Rodgers said.
In Rodgers’ absence, Zach Wilson has taken his place, but the Jets are struggling. In Week 2, they suffered a defeat at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys utilized an unrelenting offense to secure a 30-10 victory over the Jets.
In Week 3, the Jets are set to face the New England Patriots on Sunday. Besides Rodgers’ absence, injuries to other players have become a major concern for the team. According to Friday’s final injury report, Duane Brown, John Franklin-Myers, and Greg Zuerlein are all listed as questionable. It will be interesting to see whether the Jets can overcome these setbacks and emerge victorious in the season.
