When Travis Kelce missed the Chiefs’ season opener against the Detroit Lions, the Chiefs lost the match 21-20. As soon as the TE returned, so did the wins for the Chiefs. Now, with Taylor Swift watching him from the sidelines, Killa Trav has one more reason to kill the competition on the gridiron. Facing off against a 1-4 subdued Broncos, the TE set several minor records in the game.

Is it the Taylor Swift magic at work? Or is the camaraderie between the 2x SB MVP QBs Mahomes and Kelce which seems to grow stronger with every game?

In the days leading up to the Broncos match, Chiefs’ Kingdom was scared that Travis Kelce might not play. He had injured his ankle at the US Bank Stadium in the game against the Minnesota Vikings. While the artificial turf was blamed again for the injury, fans were hoping that he would make a quick recovery. And then Travis Kelce showed up as DNP in the first practice and LP in the two subsequent practices before the game. This added to the Chiefs’ worry.

But despite nursing an injury, the TE came and conquered. According to the NFL’s official website, during the first half, Kelce raked in 121 receiving yards, surpassing all other players in this category. At the time of writing, he was also the only player to have scored more than 100 receiving yards. What’s more, while his average receiving yards in the past four games have been 55.5, he has already gathered more than double that. And there are two more quarters to go! The Broncos’ defense seems to be in great shape and so far has prevented him from scoring a TD. Will Taylor Swift be disappointed or, as the game progresses, will Kelce achieve that as well?
