The Denver Broncos are having one of their worst seasons this year and it seems Russell Wilson is responsible. Losing their season opener to the Las Vegas Raiders, and then racking up two more losses. In week 3, the Broncos received a huge pile of humble pie. Served to them on a huge 70-20 platter by the Miami Dolphins. What followed next was a last-ditch effort to make a comeback.
Despite several defensive poor plays, Russell Wilson led the Broncos to their first victory. A sweet 31-28 victory against the Chicago Bears. It’s safe to say that the Broncos, despite a head coaching change, remain a bad football team. More so, despite showing moderate improvement, Russell Wilson should not be the team’s starting quarterback following the season.

Broncos Nation, Assemble! It’s time we address the elephant in the room. The Russell Wilson experiment has failed, and it’s high time the Denver Broncos move on. Russell Wilson had a lackluster performance the entire season. And he has not fulfilled the responsibilities expected of him when given a record contract. Although he did have a better performance during their showdown with the Bears. However, what followed was a severe lack of consistency.
Currently, the Broncos are at the bottom rung of the ladder at 5-1. Now, word on the grapevine is that head honcho Sean Payton is considering benching Wilson. And it’s terrible that the union between the Broncos and the QB who stomped them in Super Bowl 48 didn’t work out.
Let’s take a look at some of the reasons why Wilson is likely to be benched. The Denver Broncos are currently living the nightmare of every team in the league. They are well on their way to snagging the award for the ‘Worst D-Line in the NFL’. And even though it is not Wilson’s fault. Being the most important player on the roster does have its fair share of setbacks. Russell Wilson has performed terribly for what was dubbed to be his comeback season.
The Broncos faced a humiliating loss against the Dolphins. However, that wasn’t Wilson’s fault. In fact, the offensive line even racked up three touchdowns until defense coordinator Vance Joseph fumbled big time. But yet again in week 5, the Broncos lost a close on the New York Jets. Now THAT was all on Wilson.

And as a sequel to his week 5 fumbles, Wilson hardly even tried in their epic showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs. With just 95 yards, two interceptions, and a measly 11-yard TD. It could fairly be Wilson’s lousiest performance. EVER. In conclusion, this season is Wilson’s second consecutive low-performing season. Ever since he entered the Denver Broncos in 2022.

As we gear up for the Week 7 showdown against the Green Bay Packers at Mile High, the million-dollar question is, will Wilson be in the game? Or will he be warming the bench while Coach Payton starts counting down the days to Draft Season 2024? Sunday Night Football is about to get interesting!
